Great Memories Eating at Grins is not only a pleasant experience today it brings back so many great memories of San Marcos in the past. Dining on burgers, steak or Greek salad on the beautiful outdoor deck provided for a fun night out for my daughters and me . [10 Apr 2002 15:27:30]

Beware: Cravings will follow Grins is probably the best hometown restaurant in all of San Marcos. They have the best food! I lived in San Marcos for 3 years and I can't tell you how many meals I've had there (though I get the same thing every time) They have great burgers, steaks, appetizers, and margaritas are awesome too! Beware We had four at our table and no one was happy with their meal. My salad was brown and old. The others had cold french fries, the cole slaw tasted rancid, the steak was not cooked medium as requested. I could go on and on but it was agreed we would never go back to Grins's again. One good comment was the chicken fried chicken was good. [18 Nov 2003 16:43:22]

Mmmmm, Grins. Grins is always a favorite. In the four years I lived in San Marcos. I ate there more times than I can count. I don't believe I was ever disappointed. The food is great. The sevice is friendly, and the atmosphere is fun. I always leave with a big smile. [29 Jan 2004 15:23:08]

Great Place, Bad Food Grin's is a San Marcos classic, while I do love the place, I always crinch everytime someone wants to go because the food is not exactly the best. I have really really tried to like the food. The veggie pasta was very bland and had little taste. The burgers are so so at best. However they have great drink specials and the apps are not too bad. I just wish someone would properly instruct the guys in the kitchen on making something that tastes as good as it sounds. [03 Feb 2004 17:39:53]

Grins IS great! We've always enjoyed the great food at Grins but now that we are overseas, the last visit was like Heaven! The Salsa is the best and the warm, friendly service make the experience even better! [03 Jun 2004 18:56:54]
