Pretty Good After All This restaurant is associated with a motel of the same name. During my visit (1:30p on Saturday), the place had a few customers and exactly one hard-working waitress (who tripled as cashier and busboy). While there was some delay with service, the food was prepared promptly and served cheerfully. My beef-enchilada plate was "interesting" (different beans than I had ever seen, and something of a sweeter taste to most everything), but actually quite good -- I ate every morsel. The thick tortilla chips (Tostitos from a bag?) were fresh and considerably easier to handle than the thinner "standard" chips that always break off in the little tub of hot sauce. IRISH INN ROCKS!!! The Shamrock Irish Inn is one of America's great undiscovered treasures. Here, you have a wonderful indoor/outdoor motel with the option of a great pool... and only twenty yards away (if you care to venture outside) is one of the best little restaurants to be found in the panhandle. I had chili and a grilled cheese sandwich, both of which melted in my mouth! Afterward, I retired to my indoor room, just off of the indoor pool space, and considered myself lucky to be staying the night in Shamrock. [06 Dec 2003 01:12:30]

Roadside restaurant good We stayed at the motel, so we had supper there as well as the breakfast buffet which was comped by the motel.
For supper I had the chicken fried steak and my wife had a burger. The burger was unremarkable. The chicken fried steak was huge, with lots of white gravy. Included was the salad bar, which was okay such as it was. The burger was unremarkable.
The breakfast buffet was nothing special, but nothing to sneeze at. There wasn't a wide selection, but what was there satisfied the appetite. The food was hot and tasty, and the coffee and juice service was good. [01 Feb 2004 23:08:05]
