Greatest Steak I've Had
My very first time to Bucks. I live in Castroville, TX. It definitely won't be my last Bucks experience. My wife and I both had Rib Eyes. Mine was ordered "medium rare", and my wife's "medium well". Both were cooked to perfection. I would give anything for the seasoning that was used. I normally salt immediately, but didn't this time. Didn't change anything the chef did. excellent!!!! I actually went back to the hotel and called Bucks to compliment them on a wonderful meal and great service. If anyone is in Sweetwater, and doesn't go to Bucks, they have made a worthless trip. Bucks went bust
My first time in with my son. Waited 5 minutes to be seated as all the wait staff caually walked by without any sign they knew we existed. Waited 15 minutes to order. Ordered a sandwich and pork chops. The sandwich came and was eaten before the pork chops were even mentioned. Waited 10 more minutes...that was it. At the counter, a smart alec waitress (not serving me) advised me that I should have known that when one eats the buffet and one doesn't, the food will be faster. We didn't or buffet. She then advised me that McDonalds is always faster and walked away.    [11 Mar 2005 15:09:19]

I Was an Interstate Fool - Exit Right to Big Boy`s BBQ or Into Town for Mrs Allen`s Family Style
I suppose some people are attracted to the all you can eat and large portions as they were very busy. I personally found it was like a pig troft and service was just as sloppy. Chicken Fried Steak is large but all batter that is extremely hard and very little meat. Tried to cover it was gravy that was too thick and had the appeal of saw dust. BBQ may of been good once, but feel sure this was boiled in water when warmed. Cornbread comes right out of the refrigerator to the table as in ice cold. My brother had a steak and it was RARE so he sent it back to be cooked to his liking of medium. Long story short it was 30 minutes before he had his steak and yes they cooked it extra well done. Do not bother saying anything to the lady at the check out (owners wife) as she was rude and did not care if we returned or not. Sweetwater is a great town and friendly people but I would stay clean of this eating place.    [14 Jun 2006 18:01:48]

Bad Day at Bucks
My wife and I have eaten at Bucks several times and had good service and great steaks.Tonight Sat 02-24-07 we arrived at730 pm and were seated right away.We ordered a 24 oz ribeye med rare.When it arrived it was very rare and we sent it back to be cooked a little longer.We split the steak and started eating only to discover that it was about 40% fat.We showed the waitress who went to the mgr lady who could not come to the table as she was to busy wrapping silverware.She gave us 10%off our bill but would do no more than that.This steak is $28.00 and we got about $12.00 worth of meat.We'll have to think long and hard about going back or recommending BUCKS to our friends again.    [24 Feb 2007 22:14:04]

wow whata meal
My wife and I had a beautiful meal cooked to perfection. We had surf and turf. The steak we wanted was medium rare and we got exactly that. Our shrimp where also outstanding in a garlic sauce.
