One of Waco's best two or three restaurants
As an old food critic, I'm tough on restaurants. This place is a joy. Gracious service, large portions, ambitious menu. The food is consistently on par with the best places in Dallas and Austin. In just a year or so, it has become one of the city's favorite restaurants.    [01 May 2002 18:09:54]

Dee Mak Mak!
Doesn't look like much from the street and interior is a bit sparse, but the authentic Thai food is absolutely great! I've been to the top-rated Thai restaurants in Dallas, Austin and Houston - all had nicer surroundings, but the best Thai food in Texas is surprisingly in Waco at Bangkok Royal. Actually its as good as any of the numerous restaurants I've eaten at in Thailand.    [18 Jan 2003 17:17:43]

Where they know me by name...
Bangkok Royal is an awesome restaurant, their food is addicting and my friends and I have made it our favorite restaurant for the last three years. I wish that I could afford to eat their daily, everything is FANTASTIC!    [25 Jul 2003 23:09:45]

One reason to visit Waco
We absolutely love this place! Bangkok Royal consistently serves the freshest, best food in town. Family-owned and operated . . . you'll see they really care about the presentation and the food!    [03 Aug 2003 13:18:50]

I AGREEEE!!
I've also ate in Houston, Dallas, California, AND Florida and I havn't found a place quite like it. I've tried every plate I've eaten at Thai, and Bangkok definatly unanimously wins for best taste. It truly is the best. One of Waco's best kept secrets.    [15 Mar 2005 23:20:12]

Great Food
We visited here on a Saturday with my Baylor Son who recommended it highly. Needless to say we were not disappointed! The inside was sparse, but that definitely does not affect the quality of the food and service. We will go back everytime we visit my son!    [08 Jun 2007 16:59:12]

New Location
Bangkok Royal is a regular weekly meal for me. They have just opened their new location. Not much to look at is no longer a valid statement. They have done a great job of fixing up an historic building in the warehouse area of downtown Waco. They are now in the company of Ninfa's, Diamondback's, Cricket's and the others. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. Rich wood from Thailand and warm colors on the walls. The food is as good as ever. Truly a Waco delight!    [23 Feb 2008 12:41:45]

Trying Something New
Went for my mothers birthday and we were all happy. The food was fresh and everyone's dish was tasty. I felt the portions were a bit small compared to American servings. Taste the green tea ice cream for an unusual treat, but the coconut ice cream with sticky rice won me over!    [11 Jun 2008 17:17:28]

Truly the Best
The new location is soooo nice!
The service is still a little slow, but the food is to die for. And now that the ambiance matches the cuisine, this is truly the best place to go for authentic Thai food.    [28 Jun 2008 16:30:52]
