Best Darn Cooking
You name it...this restaurant has something almost everyone likes. From steaks to brisket and country fried steaks to seafood baskets. The food is wonderful (worth the drive from Dallas), the staff members are extremely friendly and accommodating, and the atmosphere is pleasant. Mesquite Pit

Ribeye
A great place to go for mesquite grilled food. My wife and I get the 3/4" thick ribeye every time. Wonderful flavor. We drive from Arlington once a month.    [30 Jun 2004 16:11:01]

Best Restaurant

Loved It
I moved from Texas almost 20 years ago, so when I go home, I want BBQ. The Mesquite Pit did not let me down. Everything we ordered (which was just about everything - there were 17 of us) was excellent, and well worth the 900 mile drive. The service was wonderful. Great Place
We were in Weatherford from Wisconsin for a wedding. Loved the food! The combo platter are really big though and if you are traveling with now way to take leftovers, I'd suggest sticking to one meat. Both the brisket and the ribs were great!    [02 Aug 2006 15:37:25]

I Love It
Every time I go to Mesquite Pit, it is always good. I usually get the two meat platter with sliced brisket and sausage, with potato salad and cowboy beans. Yummy! For lunch, a chopped bbq sandwich is good. And last but not least...the blackberry cobbler is to die for! Make sure to get it ala mode.    [06 Oct 2006 12:26:52]

Bad BBQ Sauce
I guess we must have hit the Mesquite Pit on a bad day...the BBQ sauce was absolutely terrible. It was so bad that everyone at our table's eyes were watering, and we are all big time BBQ fans. It was scary enough that we are reluctant to go there again.    [28 Dec 2006 00:24:50]
