Steer clear Ok, I have to say I used to like this place. However, they must have lost their cook because the food has gone straight downhill. [06 Mar 2002 00:57:03]

Steer Here Great for a late evening when everyone else is closed. The salads and calzones are a favorite. Nice, relaxing atmosphere after a long day. [19 Feb 2003 20:23:17]

Good Food, Good Prices Angelo's has been part of the regular rotation of lunchtime destinations for my office crowd for years, and it's been a consistently good one that entire time.
I've had various pasta dishes that were very good (I have a favorite, but can't remember its name: Penne pasta with olive oil, lots of garlic, tomatoes, onions, and basil), and their calzones are very good, as well. [18 Nov 2003 19:50:42]

Great Late Great food for late evenings when you actually want service & a nice meal not a "value meal". [12 Jan 2004 20:09:05]

Yuck While visiting the Galveston area a few weekends I took my family to Angelo's for dinner - we had a coupon. The food was terrible. I am Italian and was hoping for something that was at least tasty if not authentic. My wife and I had pasta dishes which were both not good at all. My daughter's pizza was edible. The mozarella sticks were fine (you can't really mess those up consider they're frozen), but the sauce they brought to dip them in was disgusting. The salad was okay (again - not easy to mess up), but the server didn't bring dressing because they were out of the one I ordered. The service was less than mediocre (our waiter seemed tired and absent-minded), and the table and silverware were not clean. Our meal - using the coupon - cost $40. We spent less money at every other place we ate that weekend and had phenomenal food and service at all the other restaurants. I do not recommend Angelo's at all ... don't waste your money.
