Questionable management actions...
I hadn't eaten at Arctic Circle in years until 3 months ago. I saw a coupon in the paper and decided to try it out. I took my girlfriend in and they were busy. It took them about 10 minutes to get us our food, but they were so sorry they gave us a certificate for a free combo meal, and I saw them distributing free tester ice creams to the other clients. While we were eating, one of the employees even came to check on us. I was really impressed with their attitude of customer service, so I started coming back on a regular basis. Recently though the service has declined greatly. Every time I go in, there are some employees who are supposed to be off duty loafing around talking to those who are supposed to be on duty. Tonight I went in with my girlfriend around 9:45. I ordered 2 combo meals, and got my drink, napkins, and fry sauce prepared at the table while I waited about 10 minutes for my food. I was sitting at the table talking to my friend, ready to eat when the clerk got around to bringing me my food. he brought it out in a to-go sack and informed me they were closing and I wasn't going to be able to eat in. Having worked in both the restaurant and fast food industry for a couple years when younger, I thought this was both rude and unprofessional. As much as I hated it, I always had to wait until the last client left to go home, and never would have pressured a client to even hurry their meal much less tell them to leave. The food is still pretty good for fast food, but the service, which was my reason for liking the restaurant has dropped below par.    [26 Jun 2003 21:56:36]
