Good Food and Cheap
If you are going to travel through a jungle of exotic and beautiful wonders, then you may want to take a map along to help avoid the quicksand.

Similarly, you may not enjoy everything at Gual Bertos but there are some very good things there.

I'll start with an example: A common problem is that rookies go in and order a chicken burrito. At Gual Bertos, the chicken burrito is a HUGE burrito stuffed with marinated chicken and a little sour cream. You were probably looking for the grilled chicken burrito, which contains grilled chicken breast, rice and beans, with lettuce and tomato.

They have a salsa bar with different hot sauces, pickled carrots w/ jalapeƱos, and chopped onions. Sometimes they have pico de gallo.

I really like the California Burrito. It's a steak and potato burrito with melted cheese and pico de gallo. I like it with chopped onions, cilantro, and red salsa.

I also like the five rolled beef tacos, rolled tacos (taquitos) with guacamole and cheese. I also like the authentic beef tacos, these are shredded beef with corn tortillas which are then deep fried and served with cheese and lettuce. I also like the carne asada plate and the adobada pork tacos. They also have a nice chile verde plate or burrito.

I'll admit that this isn't the first class ambiance; it used to be a bakery an still has the murals on the walls, you sit on plastic lawn chairs, and they tend to have telenovelas on the TV every time I'm there.

If you're looking for "gringo mexican" then Guadalahonkys is just down the street.    [02 Apr 2007 21:04:24]
