Good basic grub....
Served up by friendly local characters in the finest Escalante tradition. Popular with locals and tourists alike, a good place to get a take on local politics and happenings.

Hot wings and burgers were pretty good, the smoked salmon plate was only ok. Served with white bread toast, it's not a real upscale meal, but the smoked trout from Loa was quite tasty.

Cowboy Blues, great meal, if you want 5 star service. It is a family based or area based place to eat. I would recommend it, been there at least 4 times and never disappointed.    [12 Jul 2006 12:33:09]

Are You Kidding?
On a Friday night three of us ordered one bowl of chili mac, nachos, and two burgers. Service was TERRIBLE. It took over 2 hours to order, get our food, and eat. Chili was first to arrive after a ridiculously long wait. It could have used another minute in the microwave. It didn't even come out of a pot. You can tell. Same with the nachos when they arrived after an hour. They had to be sent back because the beans were still noticeably cool. Glass of coke was flat even after I sent back for a second.

The problem is you don't have a lot of choices in Escalante, and the restaurant knows it. It will be a long time before I return.    [24 Oct 2007 01:30:56]
