Don't Try the Buffalo
They serve real buffalo meat here.

It's very, very dark meat. Very red. Really felt like I was eating a buffalo.

As for the place, the whole porters thing and the country motif just didn't do it for me. Kinda overpriced. I don't get what is so historical about the place.

It's Quaint.
It was a nice, quaint little place. Our server was nice and even lit candles for us. We were in our own little secluded part of the restaurant.

Not Impressed
I had the halibut, it was clearly a frozen chuck, cooked without any flavor, and it had lost it's texture completely. Not the flaky, moist fish I expected for $17.95, it was chewy, bland, yuck. For the $52 we spent for dinner and dessert, it was definitely not worth it. Very disappointed.

Too dark upstairs to read the menu by candlelight. I picked decent for the food rating, but really, just because the potato, beans, and bread were good, doesn't mean I'd go back or recommended it. Dishes were not cleared until we asked, and there was a tray of dirty dishes/food near our table that was never moved.    [25 Feb 2006 14:40:20]

The food was bland and the atmosphere was dark and appeared to be in need of a good cleaning as there was dust covering the decor.
