Park City’s Morning Ray Shines As An Evening Star You may have known it as the Morning Wait, but one of PC’s most popular breakfast hangs is also a fabulous dinner restaurant called the Evening Star. My friend Molly and I dropped in over Christmas because it was one of the only uncrowded joints in town. We’re sure once word gets out, there’ll be a wait at night too but for now, you’re seated right away, served fresh focaccia with hummus and offered modestly-priced yet tasteful wines from the wine bar while you peruse a menu of sumptuous entrees (mostly pastas and healthy choices) for under $20. Did I mention that the owner/chef Jason Sanford is adorable? Gone are the days of scowls and tension on the shoulders of the Morning Ray waitstaff. The restaurant moved this fall to the Treasure Mountain Inn at the top of Main Street, leaving the cramped, high-rent space across the street near the Brew Pub. They definitely traded up, presenting a charming, artsy ambience, tons of elbow room, a separate coffee bar with free wireless internet access when you buy a cup of coffee and more pleasant servers. My only gripe is the lack of freshly-baked dinner desserts. If you ask for one, they'll offer you a morning scone. Breakfast is served until 3:30 pm, seven days a week while dinner starts at 5 p.m and is only open Wed.-Sun. [26 Mar 2004 23:50:25]
