It's still Moose's to Me
Good food, good variety, generous portions, cold beer, karaoke, very casual and can you say "convenient"? I love this place, and even though someone sued them to make them change their name to the Hungry Moose after he saw them on TV during the Winter Olympics, it'll always be Moose's to me. Not Likely To Return
My girlfriend and I dined at The Hungry Moose this evening. It was decent overall. My girlfriend ordered a chicken and pasta dish that I sampled. The chicken was quite good but the pasta lacked spice. After adding salt and requesting some parmesan cheese to add, it tasted OK.
I ordered the barbecued ribs and barbecued chicken combo. The ribs were a little tough and there was not much meat, but the barbecue sauce was very good. The barbecued chicken and vegetables were actually better than the ribs.
Although our waiter seemed to be doing his job, it seemed he really didn't want to be there. I felt we were more of an imposition to him than anything. At the end of the meal, my girlfriend and I discussed what would be appropriate for a tip. We decided to only leave a $6.00 tip (10%) due to the servers attitude.
The worst part of our experience took place at the back door while we were leaving. The waiter approached my girlfriend and asked her pointedly, "Was there something wrong with the service?" Both my girlfriend and I were appalled at the question. I've never had a waiter do this in my lifetime. It was obvious he was unhappy about the amount of his tip.
Upon arriving home, I called management and brought their attention to the situation and they assured me that they would talk to this waiter. I'm hoping they do because the waiter's actions were intolerable.
