Excellent Sashimi, Sushi, Hibachi, and Tempura Previously operated under the name Sugi, this restaurant offers a good array of Japanese foods. The service is generally good, but can slow on weekend nights.
Everything I have tried has been has been good, and the portions are large. [11 Sep 2005 13:53:12]

Generally a great place to dine! I come from California where the Sushi is a lot fresher and just about anywhere you go for Sushi is good. Being in UT it is a lot harder to find a good Sushi place. Asuka's is a good Sushi place. In fact, I think that Asuka's is the best place to go for Sushi in the Provo area. People talk about how good the Happy Sumo is, but why would I want to pay almost twice as much for a smaller portion of food that isn't any better. Plus, all you can eat Sushi for 13.95, who could resist. [05 Jan 2007 21:33:37]

WORST SUSHI EVER! My wife and I ordered 6 rolls and some tuna and yellowtail sashimi to celebrate a special occasion. This was, without exception, the worst sushi I have ever had.
First, the "spicy tuna roll" had bits of fresh tuna that had been chopped into tiny pieces in a blender, mixed with a heavy portion of mayo and CANNED TUNA! I kid you not - there was canned tuna and mayo in the sushi roll. Second, the yellowtail rolls were very "fishy," which means the fish was not fresh. The odor and foul taste was so strong we couldn't really appreciate the flavor of the sushi. The sashimi was acceptable. It was plated nicely and was surprisingly fresh.
My advice: Try Happy Sumo (rather expensive) or Sushi Ya (less expensive). Asuka was great when I visited 5 years ago as an undergraduate at BYU. It's gone downhill since. If you absolutely must go, avoid the the maki rolls. [11 Oct 2007 12:48:19]

Very good sushi. I've been here several times during lunch hour, and the service and food has always been exceptional. Very polite and helpful servers who will let you know if the chef is a little behind, or who will just stay and chat for a bit. Very good sushi that's remarkably fresh for Utah. Plus, their 13.95 all you can eat deal is pretty amazing. [15 Oct 2007 14:48:55]
