Inconsiderate
I was so surprised, and let down, when on Valentine's day my husband and I came into Basilas for lunch. We had to sit next to employees sweeping floors, moving tables, and loud conversation between themselves. We were there at 2:20 pm, which was their clean up time to get ready for dinner, I guess. I don't understand, since we were the only ones in the restaurant, why we couldn't have been seated in the far corner of the restaurant, away from the chaos. They could have waited it out for 15 minutes while we ate, in my opinion.

If having customers in the store at the particular time is inconvenient, then tell us and we'll go somewhere else. We paid for our meal and left. The owner did say he was sorry, but sorry didn't make things better. It was not the special lunch I would have hoped for by any means. I don't think we'll go back because of the inconsiderate way in which we were treated.    [14 Feb 2008 19:29:43]

Talk About Amazing!
I have been in St.George my entire 34 years, and I eat here weekly!

The food and service have been stellar, there is no other restaurant in the area that has a true from scratch kitchen.
I eat it all from Basila's, Vegetarean, Steaks, Hummus. it is all good!

Pleasantly Surprised....
I didn't know that when visiting my mother in St. George I'd be in for a real treat when I took her to Basila's Cafe for Valentine's Day. We arrived around 3 PM and were immediately attended to by the owner himself! We ordered the special of the day, which was the Steak and Lobster dish. The meal was full of flavor with a delicious soup and the meat cooked to perfection! It was so easy to enjoy ourselves with the light buzz of excitement of the customers and the positive service of the staff. It felt wonderful to feel that the owner and staff really cared about our visit to their humble restaurant.

I have to say this would give many places up in Seattle a run for their money! I will definitely be coming back when I visit St. George again!    [19 Feb 2008 01:52:34]
