Superb Meals, Superbly Presented Cafe Diablo is the best restaurant for a 100 miles. It is a rare find in a town of hardly more than a few hundred. I have been there several times and Chef Pankow has never disappointed. [25 Dec 2000 19:32:46]

This in a Small Town? Walked in on a Monday night after riding motorcycles all day long was told by a hotel clerk that the food was good there. Was she ever wrong!!! The food was excellent. The presentation of the food was outstanding.

Unexpected, Absolutely Amazing My girlfriend and I expected to rough it a bit during our vacation but soon found out that we could eat as well or better than we do normally in New York. A rare and unexpected treat that along with the Lodge at Red River Ranch made our vacation much more than we had imagined. We ate here four nights in a row. [11 Jul 2002 13:06:07]

Now You've Done It! My first visit to Cafe Diablo was totally delightful! Not only was the food scrumptious, but the presentation was brilliantly creative! I am looking forward to my next visit, and I hope many more!
I would make the drive from Salt Lake to Torrey just for dinner!! [16 Jul 2002 16:31:12]

Is This For Real? Stayed at Boulder View Motel and asked about places to eat. Cafe Diablo was close by. Arrived when the tulips were all in bloom, guitarist playing. We were in shock. Pecan Chicken was outstanding, the ribs were wonderful. To top it off "The Bomb" was out of this world.
What a great place! [02 Jun 2003 14:59:09]

What A Let Down Have been wanting to eat at Cafe Diablo for a very long time, many recommendations. Came in on a Sunday, very busy. We ordered cocktails, an appetizer, a salad and two entrees.
The salad was brought first after waiting 15 minutes because the appetizer wasn't ready. Salad was very good. Empanada appetizer finally came and was o.k.
Twenty minutes after appetizer was removed entrees came. Ribs were very dry and over spiced. Flank steak was said to have been marinated, very bland. At no time did the server or the owner/chef, who was on the floor all night, attempt to explain or console us.
While waiting another ten minutes for our check, the owner had the gall to ask us if we'd seen the desert tray. If you can't handle the business stop seating people, greed is quite unbecoming. [27 Jul 2004 12:07:05]

Best Salmon We've Ever Had The review in Fodor's didn't do the place justice...landed on a Monday night, the crowd was thin, the food was outstanding, the presentation was world-class and the owner and wait staff were extremely friendly and gracious.
The best meal we had in Utah. [11 Jul 2005 16:50:36]

Best Food in the Most Unlikely Place Guides and recommendations can't fully describe the experience of the Cafe Diablo. The menu is creative while still being mouth-wateringly good, and the presentation is excellent.
If you're visiting the Utah parks, Cafe Diablo is reason enough to detour to the spectacular Capitol Reef area. [13 Jan 2008 03:43:10]
