Good Brunch I've only been here once and it was for brunch. They have a good brunch. It's a cross between a fancy brunch and the down home IHOP-style brunch. If you're in the neighborhood and wanting brunch, it's a good bet. [20 May 2004 12:38:11]

Maybe a litte over priced I don't have a problem paying a lot for a good dinner, but this place seemed to be charging a little too much. Overall the menu was original and the food was great, but probably not enough to justify its price.
The wine and beer menu is great and you can easily find an affordable bottle of wine and sample exotic beers you wouldn't find anywhere else.
The service was very friendly and prompt. The atmosphere was casual and cozy.
They do have a bar menu and happy hour specials, that I haven't tried yet, but plan to go back for. [31 Dec 2004 08:37:36]

Miserable Experience Let me start by saying that I have loved this restaurant for years. Always recommended it to friends and colleagues visiting Old Town. The wine list has been good, and the food generally seasonal and good.
However, we had such a miserable experience there last weekend I will NEVER step foot in the place again.
First off, my husband ordered the gnocchi with pomadoro sauce. I ordered the filet with stilton mashed potatoes.
So, the meal arrives and my husband's gnocchi comes with alfredo sauce. We discreetly tell the waitress that he ordered pomadoro sauce. She realizes she got her tables mixed up and went over to a neighboring table and yup, they had ours and we had theirs. Thing is, the guy had taken a bite out of his plate. I kid you not, she puts his plate in front of my husband and says "Don't worry, he just moved the food around." Ok---we politely inform her we'd like a fresh plate of food. She complies.
While we are waiting she tells us it's her 2nd day on the job. We tell her not to worry, it is no big deal.
After my husband gets his meal back, I cut into my filet. I ordered it medium and it was ready to hop off my plate and run around the dining room. I send it back.
Steak comes back....it is NOT the same piece of meat. In fact, it looks like the ribeye special on the menu. And, the mashed potatoes have chives, but no stilton. They are now cold and unappetizing. So, I call the waitress over and tell her this isn't the same piece of meat and that at this point, I am no longer interested in dinner. Would she please just remove the meal and get us the check (I ate none of the food).
She doesn't remove the plate and proceeds to stand directly behind our table and briefs the manager.....they have a discussion as to what to do/ what happened. Hello???? We are the customers and you are sitting there blaming this on us.
The manager comes over all defensive and claims the filet was butterflied when I sent it back. Ok, but why was it perfectly crusted, etc. on all sides and cooked from the outside in. At this point, I didn't want to argue with him but he was unbelievably rude. He started raising his voice at me telling me "we don't play around in our kitchen." If I tried to speak, he would just speak louder....it was quite embarassing.
Needless to say, it was a miserable and uncomfortable experience and I would warn anyone wanting good service and competent management to keep looking. This is not the place!
The server, I'll give her the benefit of the doubt, she was new and flustered. The manager, his behavior was unacceptable and, as a result, they have lost two long term customers. [10 Sep 2007 20:24:15]
