Duck of Ages Still the best place to go for peking duck. Always available - no need to call in advance. Friendly service. Dining room small and a bit dark, but non-smoking definitely a plus since you can really taste your food. Also, Peter has gone out of his way to come up with a wine list that compliments the dishes (esp. the duck) - but a hefty bit of a mark-up on the wine. Often I'll order the duck to go and eat at home so I can drink the appropriate wines at store price. [24 Dec 2003 13:58:15]

Best Duck Around Still the best food and duck around! There's alot of hype about some of the fancier restaurants around, but Duck Chang's doesn't have it's head above the clouds. Reasonable pricing, great quality and taste, can't ask for much more. Peking duck is the best I've ever had, and I've travel the world. Highly recommand this restaurant. Friendly folks..sad note that Duck Chang has passed away, but his son is doing a great job carrying on the legacy. I look forward to evening meal at Duck Chang's at least once a week [21 Feb 2005 22:50:53]

best food around town! We were invited to go to Duck Chang's by our friends one evening. I was so impressed, I am now a regular customer ..I live in DC and I travel to Annandale to have their food! We Had the Bang Bang Shrimp, Shandon Shrimp & Scallop, Peking Duck and Stringbeans Szechuan! It was so delicious, I don't even know where to begin. We ordered a bottle of wine that Peter had recommanded and it complimented the dinner perfectly! [26 Apr 2008 20:42:50]

Definitely Best Duck & Food! Duck Chang's was recommended to us by some co workers, my husband and I decided to try their food. It was an incredible experience! We had the Peking Duck and it was Crispy and tender! We have eaten Peking Duck all over the country and over seas, this Peking Duck was by far the best that I have ever had. It wasn't greasy nor fatty, just perfect. We also had their Tsing lin chicken (sp?), Shandon Beef salad, tofu soup and Sha Cha Delight. Everything was excellent. Taffy Strawberries for dessert, sweet and tart..absolutely heaven. We left satisfied and happy, making it the best wedding anniversary meal ever. [13 Jun 2008 09:09:17]

Great Service & even better Duck! I recently invited my inlaws to join us for Dinner at Duck Chang's. We were very fortunate to have Nancy handle the details of our meal. The service was excellent... Every was delicious and we especially enjoyed the crispy suculent duck, served with handmade pancakes; and the steamed dumplings. If you are looking for a Chinese restaurant, look no further. Once you dine here, this will be your Chinese restuarant of choice. Bon appetit!! [13 Jul 2008 15:58:07]

Has there been a change? I have eaten many times at Duck Chang's in Annandale and it was most often of excellent quality and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. However on a visit (yesterday) I purchased a takeout version of Dynasty Duck and a portion of their Egg Drop Soup. I was sorely dissappointed at the quality!! The soup was totally bland and tasteless and the duck did not even taste like the Dynasty Duck that I recall from former days. Also disappointing was the almost rude response from the clerk (?) at the cash register, and when spoken to the proprietor (Mr. Chang Jr.?) did not even do the courtesy to respond even though no one else was around. And at a hefty price of $17.50 for the soup and small duck order you would think a different response would be in order. What a shame that delicious food and a warm atmosphere have gone by the ways!!! I doubt if I shall return there. [22 Jan 2009 10:16:32]
