A Western Experience
The menu is limited, but the food is excellent. I've tried almost all the standard dishes, and most of the beers, in multiple visits. The salmon is especially great, as is the beer-marinated filet mignon wrapped in bacon.

The music is often too loud, and sometimes the beer selections from their own microbrewery are a tad late in the season.    [06 Dec 1999 20:14:45]

Great Place!
Very good beer, I love to get the sampler, it is the perfect setup. The sampler consists of five beers and each one compliments the next. Excellent food! If you get there between certain times, certain items are only two dollars after purchasing seven dollars worth of beer or food.    [02 Feb 2001 15:05:21]

We usually get there early for the specials and to avoid crowd. Steaks, chops, seafood, salads and bread are all excellent. Service is prompt and the decor is nice. Avoid the rush hour when they do have long waits.    [16 Feb 2001 11:29:51]

Great crab cakes
Great food, must have the crab cakes when in season. Salmon salad also good. Call ahead for reserved seating otherwise have a long wait.

Great Food, Great Service, Suckers for a Customer
You can't go wrong with the food at Sweetwater. Everything I've tried is fresh and delicious (although at times a bit salty...). And if you complain the servers will give you a free dessert! We use this trick all the time... just tell your server something about the food was not perfect and the next thing you know, a manager stops by with either a gift card or promises of a free dessert, or they will completly delete the item in question off of your check. It's a great way to get a free meal! I initally felt bad about doing this, however the managers really don't care. You can tell they are fake, but they want the repeat business. The beer is ok, the bread is amazing, and you can tell the servers are so scared of their managers that they will do whatever to make you happy. The country music they play is horrible, however. I don't know many Northern Virginians that enjoy twangy country music.    [20 Apr 2005 16:27:40]
