This place is awesome. It's small, out of the way, and doesn't look like much from the outside. But if you drive past with your window down, you can smell some wonderful things cooking. The ribs here are the best i've ever had, meaty, juicy, and wonderfully seasoned. The bbq sandwhiches are also good. Authentic and Special
Jinx provides BBQ cooked with all the labor of love that is required, no shortcuts. I came early enough to watch him start his fire for the next days servings. What makes him special is the flavor without any sauce or extras like coleslaw. Add the sauce, which is outstanding, only after you have had a chance to taste the moistness of his meat and the well balance of smoke to pork flavor. The place is overflowing with advertizing memorabelia creating an atmosphere of the good old days. Jinx and his Staff are kind, friendly and make you feel welcome.    [05 Aug 2005 18:03:32]

Nothing else will do
Jinx's barbeque is one of the best. A great barbeque is hard to find. A great person making that barbeque is even rarer. You will find both here.

Try the barbeque sandwich or ribs, either way, you can't go wrong. Cooked just right, both are worth every last cent.

Every time I stop, my family and I are always made to feel welcome, very rare in customer service these days.

The ambiance is what a barbeque shack should be. Sitting there reading over all the old advertisements provides a little walk down ol' memory lane. You will usually find an old black and white movie playing as well.

I enjoy stopping there, rain or shine, every time I pass by Charlottesville. It's a sure bet that if he is open, I am stopping (no excuses to not stop as it is easy to find from Interstate 64)    [17 Aug 2005 09:43:09]
