Local watering hole quenches thirst
This is 1/3 neighborhood restaurant, 1/3 blue collar bar, and 1/3 college bar. People don't come in to check their coats and eat a seven course meal for $500. You can eat, drink and be merry for under $20. Karaoke is the nightly entertainment from 9:30-on (W-Sat). They show the NASCAR races, Skins games, and college and pro games on the weekends. Two Dart boards are in the back (and 4 more fold open on dart league nights). The Golden Tee gets action in the bar along with the "crack machine" variety play game machines (two).


As far as food goes, I would recommend either The Independence Pizza (with whatever topics you like) or the Spaghetti Carbonara (ham, bacon, onion and Romano cheese in a rich Alfredo sauce). For a sandwich, try the El Paso Chicken Sandwich and for extras try the chili.

As a dart player, I'm always looking for a great place to throw darts. Patriot's Cafe boasts some of the best prices in Fairfax and it has dart boards, so naturally it scores well using my system.

They run a nightly special from 8-9pm on drinks since a lot of blue-collar folks come in right after work and tend to leave around 7pm and a lot of college kids don't get in the door until 10. During this "dead time" you can drink for next to nothing!!    [12 Oct 2004 16:50:42]
