Wish it had longer hours... I found this place when looking for my house in Falls Church. It is just wonderful--excellent food and service (they'll substitute just about anything). The NY/"showbiz" decor is nice, very unlike chain restaurants. I just wish it had longer hours... [10 Dec 2001 12:26:19]

Some of the best deli food in the area but the place is pretty dirty and the service staff are not very well trained in the art of service. [28 Apr 2002 17:43:22]

Good Breakfasts We've eaten weekend breakfasts here several times - great bagels and even a 'healthy' egg-white omelet. Freshly squeezed orange juice as well.
Mostly like a diner in ambience - fine for breakfasts or quick/easy meals at other times. In the middle of a strip mall shopping center - interesting memorabilia on walls (photos, etc). [24 Aug 2002 23:12:03]

Worth the wait Prepare to stand in line on busy weekends but it's worth the wait!! Great corned beef, REAL deli waitresses who appear impatient but take the time to call you "hon" and don't get upset when the 2-year-old dumps the drink across the table. Super menu and happy customers. [14 Apr 2004 15:02:12]

Gone Downhill I'm not sure what happened to it in the last year, but the service and the food has deteriorated. I believe the original owner sold the place for some reason, and since it came under new ownership, all the old waitreses left. The french fries are often overcooked, the heaping piles of meat on the sandwiches have reduced to mere mortal proportions, the little bowls of pickled vegetables they used to offer are no more, and their perfect 10 carrot cake is now a 3. About the only thing that has improved under the new owner is the look of the place. [03 Jan 2006 19:18:38]
