Awesome Food & Friendly Staff My wife and I found this place a few months ago and couldn't believe how varied the menu was, how excellent and fresh the food is and how extremely friendly the staff is. We would definitely reccomend this to anyone, regardless of what type of food you want. Their cornbread and buttermilk biscuits are great!!! [28 Apr 2002 17:32:48]

Top notch food and service! What a great find. This restaurant is affordable and every dish is absolutely delicious. My wife and I have been there a dozen times and always bring our out of town guests there for lunch. Just go once and you will become a regular. [13 Feb 2005 19:31:12]

Just tried for the first time! We recently moved to the area and have always been curious about this place. We finally tried it the other night, and what a find! The place is really cute and the service could not have been better. The menu was extensive, everything that we had was wonderful. I would highly recommend this place! [28 Mar 2005 13:08:32]

Been coming here for years The Old Hickory Grill in Falls Church has amazing food, service, and ambiance. I've been coming here off and on for several years. While I worked in the Falls Church area I would stop in for food several times a week. Now I can only make it out on special occasions due to distance and time constraints, but I am *NEVER* disappointed when I leave after a meal. [14 Jun 2005 15:37:20]

Awesome!!! From the amazing service to the scruptious food its all good. Try to imagine Nordstrom for food--service that fawns over you and food of the highest quality. The owner and/or manager is always on premises and always making sure things are running smoothly--from overseeing the restaurant down to refilling your drink or bread basket as you're about to run out.
A gem hidden beside Route 50 and the beltway! [22 Jan 2006 11:26:17]

Strip Mall Gem I stumbled on Old Hickory Grill one Saturday for lunch with my 5 year-old and was pleased to find a varied enough menu to please even the pickiest of eaters. I brought my husband back to dinner there a few nights later, and we now eat dinner there at least once a week. It's the place where we bring our of town visitors. The food and prices are great, and the staff are very attentive and friendly. The highbacked wooden booths are cozy, too. Kids are always made to feel welcome. Their milkshakes are a big hit. Try the peanut butter shake! [26 Apr 2007 13:41:10]

RELIABLE, ALLWAYS! we've been coming here for over 6 years. very good and consistent comfort food. best burgers, home made meat loaf, calamari (fried or sauted w/ olive oil on request). We are discriminating foodies; this is the only place for us for casual comfort food and we are still regulars even though its no longer that convenient for us! [14 Aug 2007 12:36:31]

Shouldn't write this If I was smart I wouldn't write this. I don't want to contribute to a queue.
A friend and client showed me this place about seven years ago. There's nothing about it that would suggest what's inside.
Like most restaurants, they have their good days and not-so-good days. On their bad days, they're excellent. On their good days, they're over-the-top fantastic.
Sandwiches, which are what I usually get, probably cost maybe a buck or two more than what you'd expect from the look of the place. Take a bite. They're underpriced.
Great soups and salads. The dinners I'm sure are good too but you'd have to ask somebody else.
The rolls and corn muffins they bring when you sit down are really good but filling. Be careful. When they ask if you want more at least try to say no. [17 Feb 2009 15:01:28]
Food: Service: Ambiance: Overall: Recommended Dishes: Creole Chicken Club. Maybe planet's best sandwich.
