Amazing
One of the best Thai restaurants around! Whether take out or dining in, the food is delicious! The curries are all wonderful!    [16 Oct 2004 23:19:42]

Great Food, Great People, Great Service
Excellent duck. Talk to the staff and they will get you whatever you want. Friendly, family atomosphere.    [30 Apr 2005 16:45:25]

Best Thai in the DC area
And the best duck I've ever had. The food will be spicy, but mild dishes are available--I don't know what the first poster is complaining about. Service can be inconsistent, but is good more often than not. This restaurant is a 50-mile round-trip for me, but I still manage to go about once a month.    [04 May 2005 10:47:44]

Best Thai Restaurant in Northern Virginia
Fabulous food and very accommodating service. Thai food being my favorite, I have visted many Thai restaurants in the area and Thai Luang is the very best by far. We dine there frequently and are often joined by friends who also adore the cuisine. Can't understand the negative first review. We have never had a bad meal and there are a number of dishes available for those of us who can't do extra spicy.    [25 Sep 2005 18:51:47]

Very Nice
I find the restaurant to be very nice. The staff are very pleasant. They are attentive and they ask if you would like your food to be mild-medium-American spicy-or Thai spicy. Thai being the hottest of course. I always order Thai VERY hot and they do it well. The spicy Thai style fried rice is excellent and so is crispy duck. The menu has many options so there are choices for those who do not enjoy traditional curries or pad thai. It is one of my favorite Thai restaurants in the area.    [16 Nov 2005 00:10:26]

Pleasurable Dining
I couldn’t help but add my endorsement to this fine restaurant. The staff is delightful, the food exquisite and service is prompt, even on the crowded days. Although I’ve never been to Thailand, it sure feels like I have after dining at this fine restaurant.    [29 Dec 2005 13:51:39]

Thai at it's Best
I am also confused by the first post. My boyfriend and I have dined at Thai Luang numerous times, him liking it American to Thai hot, and me getting MILD - which I have never had a problem.
The owners are wonderful, the bartender is so accommodating and the food is simply the best around. We are SO glad we've found this wonderful restaurant!    [31 May 2006 16:38:34]

Best Thai food in two states and the District!
The first poster is just way off target or perhaps he ate there on Tuesday when it is Chef's day off and the assistant is cooking. I live in Maryland and for me this restaurant is over an hour's drive one way. Like the poster above I go as often as I can, every 2-3 months unfortunately. The food is simply the best in the DC area with the Panang Curry and Crispy Duck my favorites. The Tom Ka Gai is just the best anywhere too. The staff is always friendly and knows us on sight as we come in the door. Many years we have enjoyed this restaurant and it is a favorite with all our friends as well.    [09 Dec 2006 10:32:47]
