Help Wanted We attended the Wine and Garlic Festival and it was nice. We have a hyperglycemic friend, it was 10:00 and she needed to eat. We had been to Macado's before and enhjoyed it, so we went there. My wife and I sat at the bar to get our order quicker, the bartender was friendly and accomodating. My wife and I ordered two drinks and an order of nachos, our friends joined us just as our food arrived. The manager informed our friends that she could not serve them, which would have been fine if they actually ordered any drinks. She informed us that we had to go, never asked if we needed a cab, were alright to drive (I was our sober DD), or even needed our food to go. I spent 13 years managing restaurants and realize the liability she put on her employers and the disrespect she showed her employees, the bartender would have been stuck with our drinks, but we paid and tipped well, it was not her fault. We frequent the Macado's in Farmville, and would recommend them both, you may want to check the manager schedule in Lynchburg, they need to look at their staffing. [16 Oct 2008 11:20:53]

Don't Bother to Go Here... My family & I visited Macado's in Lynchburg for a special event - my mother's 80th birthday lunch! We all had such great anticipation about our lunch because of our familiarity with this restaurant in Roanoke. However, we were SEVERELY disappointed in both the food & the service. It took us forever to be waiting on even though the restaurant was not even 1/2 full. The server offered us NO napkins or silverware (I had to get them from the hostess station), and the food took an awfully long time in appearing. She never came back to check on us to see if everything was OK, which it wasn't - my sandwich had mayo (yuk!) on it when I specifically requested none. I wound up eating the chips and pickle for lunch with no refill on my soft drink. My mom ordered a drink from the bar but it never came, so I had to go get it from the bartender myself. The food took so long in coming that my husband had to leave half way through lunch to go back to work. The manager didn't offer to prepare something else for me, but did take my sandwich off the bill. He also deducted 20% from the bill, which I still thought was not enough. Needless to say the waitress got a 2-cent tip, just to let her know of my displeasure with their lousy service and food. Never, ever again! [13 Apr 2009 10:55:02]
