Great Italian
Luigi's is one of the best italian restaurants around. The food was great, and the wait staff made you feel right at home. The portions were out of this world. My family ate for two nights after that. If you get the chance go and enjoy yourself. I know that I will be back.    [15 Jul 2003 21:26:12]

GREAT EATS
Some good friends of mine took me and my family to Luigi's last Friday night for my birthday. What a great place! The food was out of this world and I can't wait to go back! Portions were HUGE!    [18 Sep 2005 19:31:09]

Wonderful Food
We have been to Luigi's several times and can not get enough of it. The garlic knots are so good that by the time you get to your main dish you are full. Be prepared to bring leftovers home! The atmosphere of the restaurant is also wonderful with it's murals and wooden ceiling.    [11 Feb 2006 10:01:54]

New Favorite
My wife and I had been enjoying one of the other Italian restaurants on the peninsula for several years. Well, that recently became history! I took her to Luigi's on a recommendation from a friend. We have been three times in about a month. The flavors are fantastic! The bread and garlic knots are the best I've ever had. Sonny and Vinny mingle with the crowd and the atmosphere is just awesome. I've lived in the New York area and dined many times up there. Luigi's could fit right into the authentic New York Italian restaurant world.    [01 Mar 2006 09:45:16]

Employee Review- A great experience
I've been working as a busboy at Luigi's for about a year now, and it has been a very good experience for me. Sonny and Vinny both treat all of their employees very well and with the upmost respect, and are always willing to help out when an employee is in need. They have been great to work for and I couldn't think of a better place to have served as my first job and adventure out into the working world than Luigi's.    [04 May 2006 10:24:14]

The only guys i trust with my food
I Personally think that Luigi's is the best restaurant in the Peninsula especially since they have the best chef around "Jamy" he’s very creative, inspired by good Chefs and very brilliant, I believe that he is as good as Chef Emiril Lagassi and also not forgetting The Fresh Prince of Luigi's "Mooky" A talented pizza maker, Chuky Gee the guy that makes great stakes and Zakary the parm boy and an upcoming Chef. These guys are the best cooks the city of Newport news have ever seen so far, really I mean these guys are incredible, very excellent as they serve their costumers so professionally that they deserve to work at a mansion. I eat their all the time the food is outstanding and keeps getting great and greater.    [19 May 2006 10:06:19]

Wow!
This place is simply amazing.
Everytime I walk into Luigi's, I smile. It's one of those atmospheres that makes YOU personally feel like you are welcomed. I ALWAYS enjoy going here, and whenever I visit Newport News, I make this a DEFINITE stop for eating. It's by far the best Italian restaurant I have ever been to, and competes with the best OVERALL restaurant, also. Did I mention the service? AMAZING! Simply amazing! All of the workers get to know YOU. I swear they knew my name! They basically watched me grow up! I first went to Luigi's at the age of 8, at their old location, and still visit even now, double that age! This is just a great stop. The prices are GREAT and the portions are MIND-BOGGLING!    [24 Jun 2006 04:09:40]

You can't find better food or atmosphere, and talk about authentic, this isn't like mamma rosa's or joe and mimma's, you want generic food with commercialized atmosphere then you go to those places! The real thing is sonny and vinny's! these guys are good-fellas!    [26 Jan 2007 17:04:34]

Garlic knots to die for...
The free bread rolls and garlic knots that they server you are good enough to fill you up by themselves. The food will blow your mind! One of the few restaurants where you get the bang for your buck!    [13 Jun 2007 19:43:05]
