Azzurro has effectively combined all successful attributes of a restaurant into one. The staff is friendly enough to invite over to your own house for supper and the food is very consistent. Awesome!
We waited 30 minutes for our table (we had a reservation) and the front end manager offered us two appetizers on the house. Restaurants encounter problems all the time...it's HOW they handle problems that really matter.

Great food, great service
My husband and I were visiting family in Richmond, and they took us out to Azzurro's for a special meal. Just great all around, and some of the best Italian food I've had in quite some time.

Will Be Back
My Wife and I stopped in at Azzurro on our way up to D.C. I must say, being from an area in Florida that boasts about great restaurants, this restaurant is worth discussing. Me and my wife have never felt as comfortable in a restaurant since visiting Azzurro. The food is flavorful, the setting is wonderful, and the customer service is outstanding. Atmosphere Atmosphere
Why is this place not listed in restaurant magazines? We'd heard that new ownership had scared some loyal clientele, but we have been back and forth to this location several times over the past few years. Let me make a few points since no other internet sites accept comments locally.

1) The martinis are high octane...best in town.

2) Level of service is unmatched. This is a very friendly staff and they go out of their way to make you feel like your the only one in the restaurant.

3) Food is consistent. Eggplant Rollatini is our favorite appetizer in town.

4) The place is noisy, but the mix of contemporary jazz and (is it spanish drums?) can get your heart pumping.

Overall a very good restaurant and my wife and I have found since moving to Richmond that it is the most consistent in town. Pass it on.    [14 Mar 2006 18:29:49]

Delightful
This is our favorite restaurant in town. It's really nice to have a restaurant locally where you are going to expect consistently good food and great service everytime you go. Even if the busy crowd delays the food at times, the staff is seamless and they always take care of you with a smile.

Me and my husband ate at AZURRO for the first time last weekend. I really enjoyed the treatment by the restaurant staff. Everyone, from the hostess, to the gentleman that carries out your food, to the manager, assists the waitress in allowing you to feel comfortable while dining. The food was good, but it seems that the most attractive aspects here are the ambiance (very busy, but beautifully decorated) and certainly the service.
