Montano's is a great restaurant with a variety of gourmet food products and wine that customers can purchase. They offer a nice variety of vegetarian dishes and their salads and desserts are outstanding. The tiramisu is heavenly!    [09 Nov 2001 13:43:22]

Save your money
It was an overall OK experience. For a long time I have heard about what a great place it was, from service to the food. Now I am wondering what everyone else was talking about.

Not impressed
I've had better steaks at Western Sizzlin.
I ordered a Medium Well and got a singed Well Done steak. I sent it back much to the dismay of unprofessional managers.
Also, the waiter we had "Tim" appeared to be on some type of illegal substance, he was sweating profusely and had pupils the size of golf balls. Like I said - not impressed. If you want the best meal in Roanoke, simply drive down the street to Frankie Rowland's.    [08 Jun 2007 12:19:53]

what has happened to Montano's?
We were there two years ago and everything was superb - food, service, and decent prices.

Forward to last night - we made reservations to be near the pianist who is a friend of ours. When we arrived, after a ten minute wait, the staff tried to seat us in a completely different section. We explained our reservations to be NEAR the pianist. We wait an additional twenty minutes.

Where do they seat us? In the back, nearest the bar still not near the pianist. This was their idea of our request.

Our waiter was hyped up on something. I felt bad for him but he also disappeared after serving the food.

The food was the BIGGEST disappointment. ALL of it had been reheated - NOTHING was fresh and absolutely the blandest food ever.
