Good Choice! The food is very good, portions are generous, and the service is quick though somewhat disjointed. It's not that they are rude, just disinterested... Typical semi-Mexican decor, but clean. All in all an 8 out of 10 [11 Sep 2001 19:31:21]

Best Mexican in town! Food--The chips and salsa are incredible, but make sure to save some room for whatever you order. Tacos, taquitos, enchiladas, burritos, chimichangas, frosty margaritas... all are great! Filling portions, quick service, hot & delicious. If you want to kick up your dish up a notch, use the salsa or any of the peppery sauces they have at the tables.
Service--Some servers are better than others, but they are all usually quick with chip/salsa and drink refills. Food comes out very quickly, and sometimes we pretend we need more time to look over the menu so we have adequate time with the chips and salsa. I never feel rushed there, though if I am in a rush it isn't much of an issue.
Ambiance--Even though the restaurant has only been around about 10 years, I'd say it's one of the quintessential places to eat in Sandston or East Richmond. It isn't sparkling in the decorations department, but it has vivid paintings of various parts of Mexico adorning the walls, and a menagerie of interesting shot glasses in the entrance. I find it architecturally interesting with its archways between rooms, and cozy with its numerous booths for seating. It is a very casual place to dine and very affordable. Lunches run around $4-8 and dinners from about $9-15. It's a very popular place for all ages so it sometimes can get a little rowdy.
Other--No real need to make reservations, at least for lunch. Lunch and dinner menus are similar, but lunch is the better deal. Great place to celebrate a birthday. Nice mixed drink selection. The longest wait I've ever had for a table was around 4 or 5 minutes and I have been around 50 times. If you stay near the Richmond airport and love Mexican, do not miss this place!
