Harry's Lunch is for real
I seek downhome, locals places. This is certainly one of them. Run by Harry and wife, it's been there since 1951. It survives in a little brick building amidst a strip with all those fast food places,etc.. It is dimly lit and a bit cluttered with piles of newspaper.Local color. The chow is great. Two meat offerings at lunch. Mine was pork chops or meatloaf. I chose the latter and it was very good and plenty-three slices. with it came boiled potato and green beans. The couple was very friendly and the clientele too. Not a place for the fancy folks. If this suits, go to Harry's. We LOVE Harry's!
My Mom and I recently toured the Virginia wine country via Route 81, and thanks to AVIS (my trusty GPS) we discovered HARRY'S! An institution!! Lots of food, great company. If you like the box restaurants, then Harry's may not be for you, but it was right up our alley! We loved bussing our own tables along with the local and chatting with Harry and his Brother.
