Description
Authentic Afghan cuisine, specializing in kabobs. All meat is Halal.
Over the centuries, waves of migrating peoples passed through the region of today's Afghanistan and Central Asia leaving behind a mosaic of ethnic and linguistic influences. The legendary Afghan hospitality has welcomed great empires and enabled flourishing trade for nearly 3000 years.
As the cross roads of the world during the Ancient and Middle Ages, many spices and cooking techniques of the east and west were integrated into the foods of Afghanistan. The food has stayed true to the region and has not changed during the modern times. What you enjoy today is what was enjoyed by Alexander the Great, Genghis Khan, Marco Polo and many others traveling the Silk Road.
We have dedicated ourselves to bring that same taste to you. Our food has been recognized by numerous awards, including "Best Ethnic Food in State" by Maine's Casco Bay Weekly for 4 years. We take care to use healthy ingredients, corn oils, and fresh lean meats so that you may enjoy your meal with peace of mind.

Best meal ever!!! Wow, this food is amazing. I got so much for such a good price. The people there are very friendly, the restaurant is very clean, and the kabobs are no question the best kabobs around. I am a kabob nut, I have been everywhere, and this is the best. You get your choice of kabob with rice, bread, salad, and a choice of one of the side dishes. For once, no chips, but real thoughtful side dishes. I highly recommend it. Even the drive from D.C. to Sterling. [10 Jan 2007 14:08:20]

Excellent! I'm also a self-styled kabob connoisseur and this is some of the best I've had in the region. The kabobs were especially flavorful and tender. There's a choice of sides, a small appetizer, bread, rice, and salad included with most meals. Very clean and pleasant atmosphere, too. Don't miss out on this place! [06 Aug 2007 15:17:53]

A chain of Afghan restaurants? Who knew? This place was very good. Afghan food isn't weird at all, and is savory and nice to eat. Clean, friendly, inexpensive, and the food was superb for the money. On business at GWU, went back for a second dinner and was pleased again. The Afghan music videos on the unobtrusive small TV are far more fun and attractive than the ones I've seen in Thai, Vietnamese and Indian places. Only beef: it's not really a fast food place (the food's fast, but not stupid), but it's decorated like one. [01 Sep 2007 14:31:20]
