Small Portions - Over Priced Walk into a restaurant with empty tables and be told the wait is 20 minutes. We then waited another 40 minutes to have our order taken.
The food is about what one would expect from a diner not a mid priced restaurant.
To sum it up we will not go back [15 Oct 2002 20:15:27]

Too Loud, but great food Many of my friends love the menu offered at this restaurant and it's proxmitity to many places. We also feel that one gets terrific value here - great food at a reasonale price. HOWEVER, no one wants to go back becasue it is just too noisy. No matter where one sits, you cannot hear the person sitting next to you. It is too bad, there are many lost costomers lost because the management does not want to 'hear' about any problems. Bring on the Noise, Bring on the Food! Wow. I feel sorry for the folks who wrote the previous reviews. My husband, infant son and I had a TERRIFIC experience at Cafe Delux. True, the place is loud, but that's part of the charm. Yes, you do have to wait and the line can be long, but there are places in the area where you have to wait longer for food that's not as good.
Cafe Delux reminds me of some of the bustling restaurants you find in Manhattan, especially with the Art Deco-ish design. What I like most about the place is the service. We had our 6-month-old with us when we went the first time, and the wait staff and management treated us like royalty. Maybe it was because they recognized us as new parents who don't get to eat out much any more, but I got the impression they weren't putting on an act just for us. The food was excellent for the price, so we went away pleased.
I'm a New York/LA girl, so maybe this place just reminds me of home. Inmy experience, crouds and noise are part of the fun of eating out. For a quite meal, go somewhere else. Or you can always eat at hom [15 Aug 2003 19:15:53]

Eating out with Baby
Better there than anywhere Better there than anywhere. Ambiance, staff, management and qualified service. Really, need I say anything more..Truly any discrepincies found here would to me be a fluke. On this matter in reading the above comments and knowing first hand the service given it only behooves me not to be on the defensive...Great place nothing less.. [22 Sep 2003 18:43:18]

Love It!! I've been about a 1/2 dozen times. Never have been dissapointed. Ambiance great for lunch. The food tends to be simple with just the right amount of twist. Today I had the Caramelized Onion Tort with Goat Cheese, served with baby greens. It was the perfect portion for lunch, a flaky crust with sweet onions and just the right amount of warm goat cheese on top. I don't think I could get that anywhere else in Tyson's Corner! I also really enjoy the Creme Brulee when not over cooked, which has happened a couple times. If you want a lively atmosphere and tasty food that isn't over-portioned, come to Cafe Delux [28 Oct 2003 16:34:15]

Love this place I have been to the all of the Cafe Deluxe's (Tyson's, DC, & Bethesda) and love them all. The food is GREAT and reasonably priced. I like the activity in the restaurant, it's all part of the experience. People that are looking for a romantic, quiet evening should look elsewhere. A good place to go with a group of people. Cafe Deluxe is also a very family friendly restaurant, which is hard to find these days. [14 Feb 2005 13:50:51]

Worst Customer Service experience I stopped by for dessert on Saturday afternoon at the Tysons Corner location. Our waiter never brought a glass of water after asking another staff member twice. Our waiter never stopped to check if we wanted to order anything else. The atmosphere is boring, service is horrible and their brownie was very dry and disgusting. I'd prefer the Silver Diner anytime over this place. [21 Mar 2008 13:58:08]
