You can smell the BBQ from Maple Avenue
BBQ Country is a simple and fun BBQ place. You can smell the mesquite burning from hundreds of yards away. Its hard to drive down Maple Avenue at noon time and not get hungry. The service is quick. The BBQ is good. You walk in, grab a tray, tell them what you want, and they make it right in front of you. Pulled pork BBQ is good. The ribs are too dry for me. The sauce is available in hot or mild. The sauce is thick, Memphis style. Onion rings are good, as is the cucumber salad. Peanuts are free. There is a little play area for the kids. The TVs normally carried the country music station, but you can switch it to sports or other things.
Good place for a family or a team gathering after a game. Expect to spend $5-8 per person (includes drinks).

OK for carry-out
When my husband and I moved to Vienna, we were thrilled to find a BBQ restaurant so close. Unfortunately, BBQ Country is only mediocre. The meats are tasty, but the side dishes are bland at best. BBQ has gone down hill under new management
This used to be a good place about 3 years ago. But a new team came in in ~2005 and they tried to cut corners. The food is no longer tasty, service is slow, and the atmosphere is lame.    [10 Aug 2006 17:27:59]
