Best Afghan Food in DC Yes, it's true they are not quick but it's not that the food takes a long time to be made. It's the owner, Assad. He's friendly and warm and personally, I feel gives you the feeling that he's there all for you. It's a wonderfull experience to eat there. We all know an experience takes time so come there to relax by slowing down and taking your time. Assad will have a great conversation with you. Then you'll eat the most delicious food you've ever tasted. This place is my favorite restaurant overall. I'm a filipino and caucasian mix and eat about everything out there so my opinion isn't bias toward afghan food as I have no connection to it other than this restaurant. Please eat there and wake up your taste buds for once. [19 Mar 2007 16:19:51]

Twenty Years of Outstanding Food I've been going to Panjshir II for over twenty years, and it has been excellent every time. Assad, the owner, is very welcoming and nice, and always fun to talk to. The food is outstanding and is surprisingly appealing to even those who think they don't like "ethnic food." Try the Mushroom Palow -- you won't be disappointed. Be prepared to take your time, but it's worth it. I am going there tonight... [29 Jan 2009 18:12:35]
