Small portions
I have never ordered veal and gotten such a small portion. It's a good thing I ordered a salad and ate bread. My friend got 2 tiny pieces of Mahi and then we were both given tremendous portions of Mash Potatoes(which were tasty) and Green Beans(which I love!). If you have to provide a plate full of food, If you want to make more profit per meal, I guess you save $$$ by loading people up with carbs and veggies.

My friend loves Caprese and ordered it as an appetizer. The tomatoes were green and had no taste. I personally do a lot of Italian cooking (old family recipes) and would NEVER buy tomatoes that look like, much less serve them in a dish like Caprese. At $8-$9 for this entree, you certainly should either improve the quality or remove it from the menu!

I went there because I had a craving for Veal Marsala-the food itself was good but very expensive based on the portion size as compared to other places of like type    [19 Mar 2001 08:01:50]

Most Authentic Italian!
I visit Bella Monte every time I'm in VA Beach (about 3x a year). It's the only place I've ever eaten in the US that tastes like the food I had when vacationing in Italy as well as my grandmothers kitchen!! I eat out often and enjoy traveling. Excellent all around

Best restaurant in the area

Great even for Locals!!!!
I work directly across the street from Bella Monte. I stop in frequently so I can have lunch. It has always been very relaxing to go to. The service was amazing. The food is spectacular. Recommend it to Locals in the winter-early spring seasons. The place tends to fill up with tourists otherwise. Also I really enjoy that eventhough I am 21 I still received the same repect and courtesy that the more mature patrons did. A++ on service!!!!    [11 May 2007 13:54:48]

Ambiance, Risoto, All Fresh
From the caprese with fresh basil to the sausage and pearl onion risoto with red wine reduction and a hint of butter, this dish ROCKS. My only regret was being to full for dessert.    [15 May 2007 10:07:03]
