Good choice for good Indian food Excellent Indian food with good variety of meat and vegetarian dishes. Service is very pleasant though sometimes a little slow. [05 Dec 2003 15:41:19]

Misses the Mark I travel all over the country and eat Indian food in many places. It is one of my favorite cuisines to eat and to cook. I was rather disappointed with the service at Nawab--inattentive and slow--and the food was just a bit better than passable.
Unless an experience at a given restaurant is egregious I always go two or three times before making a final judgment and will likely try Nawab again. So far, little impressed me: the tadoor chicken was okay, the tamarind chutney too sweet, the goat too bony and the goat's sauce overcooked and not at all spicy enough (though ordered 'Indian' hot). Awful Service The food was only passable, I agree, but the service we received was inexcusable.
My group of 5 was passed from one waiter to another over the course of two and a half hours. I couldn't believe this place won best of the beach - they were terribly slow and inconsiderate.
A lady would pass by once in awhile to refill our water glasses, but even when we asked for someone to refill our flavoured beverages (mostly tea and sprite), the main gentlemen waiter ignored us or "forgot" til almost an hour had passed.
They served two of the dinners along with half of the appetizers, so that 3 members of my small group (I among them) sat without food while the other 2 uncomfortably picked at their dinners, waiting for everyone else to be served. They ended up waiting about 20 minutes, when a third waiter, an older gentleman, came by with most of the rest of the dishes, repeating "hostess mistake" over and over.
Under no means do I recommend the appetizer with cold chickpeas and potatoes. I cannot remember the name of the dish (because the person next to me ordered it), but they set it beside the two of us and it smelled awful, like bile. They covered it in tamarind sauce, yogurt, and what I think was mint chutney. What an awful mix.
Everything looked rushed, and the bottom of every bread we ordered (3) was burnt black.
We asked them several times to seperate our check, and they refused to do it anywhere but at the register. We all stand to pay, and they argued in another language over who ordered what, as if we weren't even there. They decided what to put on each check, and it still wasn't right. Our group decided to pay each other the odd balances later, and just pay for what was on our receipt, just so we could leave. Very awkward. [18 Jul 2006 13:02:20]

Decent; would probably go again We thought the food was decent, but not quite as flavorful as other Indian restaurants we've visited.
The waiter was in no particular hurry, but he was pretty pleasant and our food came out fairly quickly (they were not busy yet--early in the evening). The older lady re-filling the water glasses never missed an opportunity to fill my glass!
Curry chicken was delicious as was the salmon. The tandoori chicken seemed a bit dry. Also, I would recommend at least medium spice as "mild" was extremely mild.
Overall, it was enjoyable and I would go there again, but probably after we try a few more Indian restaurants in the area. [19 May 2008 10:57:12]
