Great little Italian secret Fantastic little Italian restaurant. Outstanding service, wonderful Italian food, great cafe atmosphere. Live in Buffalo, NY and have been to Doraldo's 4 times. [15 Aug 2003 14:55:50]

AWESOME FOOD, SERVICE NEEDS HELP This is definetely NOT the place to go if you need to be somewhere in two hours or so.
On the first page of the menu, there is a disclaimer that the service may be slow since all the meals were made from scratch.
The first time we dined at Doraldo's, it was approx 5 min before anyone asked for our drinks. Once we got our drinks and ordered our appetizer along with the main course, it took 10-15 before the appertizer showed up and additional 10-15 before the main course showed up. It was a busy night. But 30 min before a meal shows up? Since it's located in a military-heavy area, the place offers 10% discount. When we tried to take advantage of that, the waitress announced in an unfriendly tone that it's only for the military members and if only one person is in the military, then she can only give that person the discount. Fair enough so we both showed our ID's. Then she announced that she'll need to ask the manager.
Considering how we dined at many restaurants who offer military discount and never having had such hassle, we were actually surprised. The experience made us feel cheap, to say the least. She somehow made us feel like we were second class citizens or something so that the second time around, we didn't even take advantage of it.
The service wasn't much better the second time around. It was 26 min before I saw my appetizer (another busy night). And additional 13 min for the main course--we timed it.
But the food was excellent. We'll definetley go back there for excellent food, but the service portion needs serious help. [07 Jan 2005 17:21:11]

FABULOUSLY GOOD AND CAN NOW BE ENJOYED IN KILMARNOCK!! Being from Long Island, where the Italian restaurant owners KNOW HOW TO COOK, it was a joy to eat at Doraldo's new location, on the Lower Neck of VA. It's owner couldn't have been more charming or concerned for our comfort while dining. Our lunches were terrific, leaving no room for the yummy looking desserts. We'll order accordingly next time. This restaurant is a welcomed addition to our area and we'll frequent it very often. [23 Jun 2005 18:19:35]

Best Scallopini in town!!! We're 25 year residents of Williamsburg and were pleased when Doraldo's opened. Their veal dishes are superb! Appetizers and lunch portions are more than ample. We dine there at least weekly. [29 Nov 2005 10:40:36]

Love the Shrimp Parmigiana!! We ate at the Doraldo's in Newport News while visiting the area house hunting. Once we moved here we were very disappointed to learn that this restaurant had closed. We then tried the Doraldo's in Williamsburg and were quite pleased that the food was equally delicious! The new Williamsburg location lacks a bit of the atmosphere of the old location, but the food is still yummy! One downside - we went to eat there one evening recently only to learn that pizza had been taken off the menu after 4:00 p.m. Since pizza is the only thing my picky children will eat we had to leave to dine elsewhere. It would sure be nice if they could at least continue to have pizza on the children's menu after 4:00. We won't be able to frequent this fine restaurant now due to our need to eat someplace my children will also enjoy. [15 Jun 2006 10:01:25]
