Decent Food, Awful Service
This is one of those restaurants that requires the entire wait staff to provide greetings to every birthday celebrant. On the night I ate there, several patrons had birthdays, and each time, the staff rallied around the celebrant, loudly clapping and chanting some innane song. This resulted in inordinate waits for service. Although the food was decent and reasonably priced, the clatter and lack of service was enough to assure I won't return.    [10 Nov 2002 04:59:25]

Food
My family eats at On the Border on occasion and have always been very pleased with the Food and service. I have ordered pick up orders to take in to work and have received exceptional assistance in both placing the order and waiters/waitresses making sure everything was done correctly. Food is my personal favorite for Mexican cusine in the area, expecially the chili rellenos.    [17 Aug 2003 14:15:59]

Great food!
The complementary salsa is pleasantly spicy. The variety of tortilla flavours they offer with the *Build Your Own Burrito* option are all wonderful. The chips can sometimes be a little too salty and mostly the ladie's room smells funny in a bad way, but all in all a great restaurant.    [11 Jul 2006 02:44:11]

Fair food, lousy service
To start with, the drink menu doesn't have prices. The servers were busy, so by the time they came to take my drink order, I was in no mood to have to ask them for the price of drinks. And I was in the mood for a margarita or two.

The food was so-so, but there are better places around. It took forever to get the food served, both my glass of tea and my glass of water went dry with no offer to refill them. Also ran out of chips.

I will not be going back.    [23 Oct 2006 17:17:13]

bad service on the border cantina
I had a real bad experience here. They sat us down pretty quick but after that, the service was slow and bad. First, it took a long time just to take our order. Once our order was taken, it took a long time to get chips and salsa and a drink. They were so slow to bring out the appetizer after 45 minutes of waiting I figured I would complain to the manager. Well, it turns out I wasn't the only one upset. 3 tables around me were upset also as they were having a similar experience. In fact, one table's entire order was wrong. In any case, the appetizer ended up coming out with the main course. The manager decided to take care of us personnaly which wasn't much better. We did not have any utensils. We did not have plates for the appetizer. My food was missing beans, rice, guacamole, torilla pretty much everything but the fajita itself. No napkins, nothing. I had to keep asking for basic things and so did the people around me even with the manager. The food was ok but certainly not great. The fajita was burned, the appetizers were cold. It just didn't work out for us. I even had to go and ask for the check after waiting for a long time. The manager was good enough to reduce the bill in half. Honestly, it wouldn't be worth the experience if the food was free. Needless to say, we won't be going back. This place is in desperate need of new management.    [16 Nov 2008 21:09:02]
