Question?
I live in Austin, TX and I have been to the Pub several times when I am in the area-- the last was New Year's Eve 1999. You are great! I just was curoius who owns the old vacant apartment/motel rooms boarded up in the back of your place and how can I get in touch with them? Thank you. P.S. I'll be back, ya'll.    [15 Jul 2001 08:42:11]

Old Bartender at Yorktown pub
I was a bartender at the Yorktown Pub in the late 80's and back then and from what I've read thus far the place is an icon on the York river. You won't find a better place for a few cool daddies and a crabcake sandwich anywhere than the "Pub".    [15 Feb 2002 13:55:30]

Best Pub in Hampton Roads
A local hangout with the best of everything!! Shirley will make you the most awsome Crab Cake Sandwich or Clam Chowder you have ever tasted. Kim will get you the coldest beer, and the owners, Rick and Dean will take good care of you. Bikers Welcome, as well as everyone else.    [27 Jun 2002 12:41:04]

Where Bikers, Yuppies and Mariners Mingle!
One of the best kept secrets in Tidewater, Virginia is the Yorktown Pub. In terms of atmosphere it must be what Key West's eateries were like before the hordes of tourists found them. It's a shack of a place on the York River beach (a.k.a. the Yorktown Waterfront) which attracts an amazing assortment of locals and visitors: bikers, yuppies and even the odd boater or two mingle with great cordiality. The food is simple, but very "tidewater" with a crabcake sandwich to die for. Current tap beer includes Hampton's own St. George's brewery products (their IPA has just the right hop finish). Prices are reasonable although not in the fast food range (lunch for under $10). It's the sort of place one wouldn't mind be stranded in for an hour or two during a summer downpou    [23 Jul 2003 16:50:50]

Dine Along The Historic Riverfront of Yorktown, Virginia
If you enjoy great food and drink, friendly service and beautiful waterfront scenery while in a casual atmosphere, then I must "highly" recommend "The Yorktown Pub". Located in Historic Yorktown along the shores of the York River there lies this quaint establishment that offers much to the local residents and any visitor that may be passing through. The menu offers excellent seafood and steak entrees ranging from $7.00 to $17.00 and more than a half dozen different sandwiches in the $5.75 to $8.00 range.
If your travel plans include Jamestown, Williamsburg, or Yorktown, Virginia, make it a point to stop by this place and satisfy your appetite before exploring the battlefields that General George Washington and Marquis de Lafayette, fought for and won our independence. It's a great place to watch fireworks on July 4th.
I revisited The Yorktown Pub for the first time in nearly 8 years yesterday and was very pleased that the food and service was as excellent as I ever remembered. Cora, you're beautiful...and a great waitress too!    [04 Aug 2003 18:14:30]

Cornwalis should've surrendered to Washington and Rochambeau here
I first stumbled upon the Yorktown Pub in 1995, during my first visit to the Tidewater. From the first moment I stepped inside its rustic doorway I fell in love. It retains the ambiance of a forgotten time in American pubs, and its closeness to an area replete with profound histrical significence is absolutely intoxicating, (that and the abundance of a broad range of adult beverages in its cellars). It has become one of my things "to do" when in the area (about once every other year). Its clientele is an ecelctic blend of tourists, locals, re-enactors, bikers and the occassional ivy leaguer. I noted one reviewer compared it to the early days of the Keys, I think this true and would presume to opine that it is a place Hemingway himself would have felt comfortable i    [21 Dec 2003 22:26:02]

Don't Miss the Yorktown Pub!
The highlight of any Yorktown battlefield tour is resting your weary bones in comfort at the local watering hole - The Yorktown Pub. Great food, great selection of beers, great folks, great view of the York River and beach! A diamond in the rough!    [19 Jan 2004 16:22:35]

I Love the Pub
The Yorktown has to be the best darn pub around. I come into the area about twice a year for training at the Coast Guard station and I am always pleasantly surprised to find the same friendly staff and great sustinance. The bartender Chris and waitresses Elaine and Tammy greeted me with smiles and remembered what I drank! Within minutes I was comfortable and soon after was being served steamed clams and the biggest oysters on the half shell I had ever seen. Overall, everyone should give this place a chance. Sit at the bar Chris will have you laughing, plus she is cute as a button, and has no problem telling you what she likes to eat. Locals and tourists are all welcome and treated the same. Maybe they will let me work there? Thanks for a great night ladies....a little kindness and humor goes a long way.:)    [21 May 2004 16:43:11]

Thank God It's Still There and Unchanged!!!
Our annual visit to the Williamsburg area wouldn't be complete without at least one meal at the Yorktown Pub. We found the tavern quite by accident after a tour of the nearby battlefield and now consider it a "must see" whenever we're in the area. Crabcake sandwich, fries and a cold Yuengling...man, I'm in heaven. With all of the changes taking place in and around Yorktown, thankfully the Pub remains a constant. May it remain so for years to come.    [30 May 2006 20:26:04]
