Grumpy Maitre D' This restaurant does a lot of things right. The food is good. It's a reasonable value. The service is friendly. It's a neat old Tavern.
But you only get one chance to make a first impression. We arrived about 30 seconds late for our 6:00 reservation and we were punished by being denied the right to order off the early bird menu (which requires you to be in your seat by 6:00). The Maitre D' told us we had arrived at 6:01. He didn't care that we spent 5 mintues trying to find a decent spot in the muddy parking lot. That attitude didn't make us feel welcome and we will not return. [16 Mar 2005 22:23:35]

Great Place What a wonderful old building. Diverse menu, good service, white tablecloths, fresh cut flowers, candlelight, classical music and magnificent wine list. [21 Jul 2005 13:09:15]

Happy Diner
Great Food and Awesome Atmosphere I have been here numerous times. The menu is quite extensive and the specials are always interesting. I tried a special, which was wild boar, topped with a lingonberry demi-glace. It came with homemade mashed potatoes and mashed butternut squash. The squash was the best I have ever had. There are lots of small dining rooms, filled with antiques; my favorite was the Colonial Room. [15 Jun 2006 09:50:17]
