Have you ever had a bad experience...?
I have. I recently visited Billie McHale's. I had such a poor experience that I just had to tell someone. Let me tell you the whole story. I went there on a whim. I got there about 7:45 p.m. and the hostess did not even acknowledge my presence. Not until I was the only person standing in the reception area. I stood there waiting for over five minutes and not so much as a "Hello" or "How many?" After I was finally seated, it seemed like forever before a server came to greet me. No one even so much as smiled. After that, it took forever to get a simple glass of water and even longer to get my salad before the meal. At one point, I asked for some extra napkins. Never got them at all.

I ate my salad and, again, waited forever to get my entree and when it came it was not hot. I asked again for napkins and a refill, this time, and got them just as I was finishing my meal. The food was less than desireable, the portions small and overpriced for the quality. I only saw MY server 4 times: ordering, salad, to ask for water, and with the check (which also did not come easily). I spoke to the manager, who did not even introduce himself, and felt as if he did not even care. He offered a couple of lame excuses like being shorthanded in the kitchen. (How this affects service, I will never know) I have been a cook and could understand if the food were late, but I feel that all my trouble was with the server. It Sucked
The prime rib was tough and chewy and very small for the price, I can't believe I went back there, last time the shrimp was like rubber. This must be the worst restaurant in Bellingham.    [04 May 2002 00:00:59]

Fantastic
I haven't actually been in awhile but I am returning tonight because I love the atmosphere. It just so happens that I'm a little younger than most that post here (18) but I still enjoy the relatively cheap prices and good food. Its not grade A food by any means but I always enjoy a cheap-tasting, yet delicious meal.    [21 Aug 2002 13:40:34]

My Favorite
My family and I just happened upon the restaurant. The service was fun, the food was American, all in the family were happy. In today's economy it is difficult to afford a dinner out for a family, but this restaurant makes it affordable and fun for all. I had never had better tasting ribs, corn bread and beans. More good than not
I have been to Billy's numberous occasions, most times it is good. Like in any restaurants there are also bad times. I enjoy the server "Chris", she makes it worth going to when you have a bad experience. I understand that some of you have had bad experiences, but don't let one experience ruin it forever for you. You could of had an unexperienced server who only cares about her paycheck or a cook who doesn't take pride in his food, but tell me one restaurant that at one time or another that don't have employees like that?    [06 Jun 2005 22:32:32]
