Awesome for breakfast, but get there early or there's a line. A busy country down-home atmosphere. Casual. It earns its reputation as the place to go when in Elma. It's not fancy. There's lots of interesting items to look at while you wait for your meal. A fun place.    [23 Nov 2003 19:25:37]

HIGHLY recommend it
I have eaten at Rusty Tractor and HIGHLY recommend it if you're alone, or entertaining guests--whether business or personal. Their meals are very filling, and you do not leave hungry. It's down-home cooking at its best!    [05 Jan 2004 13:26:53]

Horrible long wait times. Practically ignored. I have tried more times than I care to admit. Seems they have no time for you even when you finally get your food. Better make sure everything is on your table when you get it, or go without.    [10 Feb 2004 02:46:45]

RV Rigs Stop Here
If you are looking for a very special meal, surrounded by antique items, stop here! This quaint restaurant will grab your interest before you enter the building. It's strictly country atmosphere. This small cafe widens to a larger dining room. Everything about it is comfortable. Nice people & service. Unique menu and meals that you will remember. Easy access from highway.    [02 Feb 2005 15:52:28]

THE place to be in ELMA
The service is great, the food is served in good portions, and the price is easy on the wallet. Overall cleanliness is GREAT, a lot of antiques to see, and good company only enhances what they already have!

Some of their best dishes are: chicken almond bacon salad, anything with hash browns!    [29 Sep 2005 02:37:41]

Slow, Smoky
The food here is not bad, but the primary problems are: the atmosphere can be very smoky at times, and it is often difficult to get in and out within an hour at lunchtime. There are many times when food has arrived after an hour and I've had to take it to go for this reason.    [19 Oct 2005 12:41:32]

Great Food - Improved Atmosphere
Great family - Homestyle Food. You won't leave here hungry. They passed a state-wide indoor smoking ban in Washington State so you don't have to worry about smoking/non-smoking areas anymore. They have some unique dishes like Yak Burgers. They have a small gift area with mugs, croaking frogs and other unique items. A lot of tractor and home-spun antiques inside and out.    [26 Apr 2006 13:44:38]

Cute But Not Down Home Cooking
I haven't had the breakfast but the dinner menu is adequate. Had the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and white gravy. Huge chicken fried steak but very bland. Mashed Potatoes were not made from scratch ... powdered or dehydrated. White gravy is an institutional pack from some food distribution company, I suspect. Service was good, friendly and reasonably prompt. Might go back for a breakfast but was disappointed with this particular meal. Wife had the roast beef and was pleased but also noted the lack of homemade mashed potatoes.    [23 Aug 2008 22:31:04]
