Cafe Indochine is the standard I few years back I found Thai food. It's become my favorite ethnic food, and Cafe Indochine is the standard by which I judge other places.
Every dish I've tried is flavorful. Larb Gai is probably my favorite.
Every dish is beautifully presented and garnished. It's almost an artistic thing!
The restaurant is small and cozy feeling, but there is the elegance of linens on the tables.
Desserts are also beautiful I think my favorite is the lime tart. [29 Aug 2002 08:20:23]

Super!! All my life I have lived in this area and just a few years ago I started going to Indochine. This family run business is friendly, and always ready to help. Me and my family got to know them there so well that I could talk about their family tree!! The food is great, the best Thai food I've ever tasted. I wish I could go there everyday, I crave their foods all the time!! Just last night I went there and they brought in a free dessert for us. These little surprises and selfless gestures is what makes them so nice to be around. The atmosphere is something else. They go to such measures that they closed the restaurant for a few months while they went to Thailand to get new recipes and art, to make our stay there even better!! I recommend you try this restaurent, and I promise you'll go back! [28 Apr 2003 16:05:29]

Fabulous! I love Thai and moved to the area several years ago. I had been disappointed by the Thai I had had here until I found Indochine. It is always great tasting and smelling, presented beautifully, and served with grace and care. I can't say enough good things about them. [02 Nov 2003 19:14:27]

Best Thai restaurant in Washington We discovered Thai food back in the early 80's and go to Thai restaurants when we travel, if available. This place is our standard for excellence. They have expanded and are branching out. Soon to be in the new revitalized downtown Tacoma area. Expansion has caused some problems with training new servers to their standard, but if ever anything is not what you expected (has never happened to me, but I am not new), you should explain to them what you want (they excel in catering to your dietary needs as well- no sugar, no nuts etc.) They constantly want to know what their customers like and are always experimenting and adding great dishes (flavors) to the menu. They provide an experience that makes you want to come back-always. Food is delicious and beautifully presented in a warm atmosphere, with a Thai-French ambiance, that makes people feel comfortable, dressed up or casual. [11 Apr 2004 15:24:14]

Decor Food is great, but they could use some plants to fill the back entry way, and to paint the exterior walls. I look at entries as being a good part of the package and didn't like to see dead plants with no bark as I come in. [07 May 2004 17:35:12]

This restaurant is great!! I've been eating Thai food since I discovered it back in 1980s in Calif. I live in Puyallup and don't mind driving to Federal Way to eat at Indochine. I love the food and especially the way that they present their dishes to you. You can tell that they take time and care in preparing for taste and presentation. I had their Panang Curry, Crispy noodles with mangos, (one of my favorites) and the Chili Fire Prawns, and it was all delicious!! I'm going tomorrow for lunch and can hardly wait. I used to go to Indochine when they were in the smaller building next door, but since they moved to the larger building it has pumped up the menu and turned into a 5 Star+ restaurant. Can't wait till they open up the new one in downtown Tacoma. I will definitely try that one too. If you want to have a cocktail with dinner try their Thai Kiss it's really great.
