Bad Service, Bad Management My husband and another couple recently took me to dinner at the Roaster for my birthday. We ordered the Buffalo wings before dinner and after each of us ate one, we had the waitress take them back as they were over-salted. She offered a 50% reduction and we asked to speak to the manager. The manager arrived with an apparent attitude and said that we ate half of the wings, so only deserved half of a refund. My husband said, "Fine, just put them back on the bill at full price and we just won't come back here." The manager just shrugged his shoulders and walked away. And, he put them back on the bill at full price. Wow, some nerve. Our bill came to over $120 - the server was slow and had too many tables she was trying to cover. The rest of our meal was good, but the horrible attitude of the manager will keep us away forever. Dine there if you dare. [26 Mar 2004 15:31:02]

Bad Drinks, Bad Food, Cold Visited our local Roaster last night. Sat outside cold. People at a neighboring table asked the waitress to turn on the propane heater she declined I would have liked it too. Bad martini's both vodka and gin. Snack sampler was mediocre and poor depending on the sample. Won't be back. [25 May 2005 10:23:58]

Ghost Town I recently took an out of town guest to the Roaster and the fact that other than a few bar patrons we were the only two diners at 8pm on a Thursday night should have been a red flag. Despite the lack of customers the service was slow, the food was lackluster and somewhat overpriced for the fish tacos I had ($14.95)....it is not a place I will frequent for a meal anytime soon. Perfect Banquet Staff parties are always tough. Especially for 60. Sit down service, presenting prime-rib, salmon or chicken was a snap for these guys. Food was perfect, service outstanding and the value for the experience can't be beat. Even had spots for some attending to arrive by boat. Simply the best "on-the-water" value around. Wait and wait some more. Went on a Friday with the extended family. Waited 30 minutes to be seated. When finally seated, never saw the waiter. So went to bar to order a drinks for everyone. 20 minutes and no service there. It had been 5 years since my the last time I went to this place. I should have waited another 5. [08 May 2006 16:23:37]

Last time we go there. If you take out the fact that we waited over 30 minutes, that the waiter never showed his face, and that the bartender wouldn't help us. The service was great. The menu left a lot to be desired. [24 May 2006 18:54:21]

Loved it. Their Menu was stocked full of guy stuff, but had a nice selection of lighter fare for the ladies. Lots of Beer choices and the view was relaxing. I liked it so much I'm having my Wedding Rehersal Dinner there too. I'll write back to tell you how it went. [26 Jun 2006 21:19:30]

Going downhill fast! We've been going to the Roaster for a few years now and the service and food seems to be going downhill this past year.
One time waited 20 minutes in the Lobby with not a single staff member even acknowledging our presense. When we finally asked whether we could be seated or not, we were met with pretty rude comments from one lady. After finally being seated, it took 15 more minutes to get a waitress/waiter to take any drink orders.
Then they were out of glasses. Then they were out of Turkey, rolls, no clam chowder - and this is a Saturday no less.
We tried to go again last night and the place seemed dead. After being seated, we again seemed to keep waiting for nearly everything. No one to take a drink order for 15 minutes... food was late... getting the check was late.
They tossed some muffins down after taking the order is a "to go" box. All of this seems cheap for what used to be a farly nice place to eat. [04 Aug 2006 21:51:00]
