Nice Addition to Leavenworth I've had a few great experiences at the Dragonfly. First let me say the staff is very warm and friendly and the atmosphere...wow! Beautifully decorated with a great ambiance. The food is fantastic. I return again...and again...and again for the sushi. The Ahi poke and the peasant soba is a must have.
I think they are still working out a few kinks with the kitchen, however. Food takes a while but I would not complain because it was well worth the wait. Not to mention every detail with presentation. Seems to be the spot to be on a Saturday night with the DJ and all. Way to go and good luck. [25 Oct 2006 14:30:46]

Leavenwoth got hip Being local I expect a lot out of a place if it is going to tempt me into coming downtown. Dragonfly does it. The food has been consistently great as well as the service. The lounge is open late with a dance floor and DJ. If you're looking for night life this is your saving grace. [03 Nov 2006 20:16:19]

Want uptown dining in Leavenworth I recently moved from the Seattle area and had the opportunity during my time there to experience some really extraordinary cuisine. I have to say I was delighted to see John with this gorgeous restaurant, fine fare and new concept for this area made me ecstatic!
The food is very good, the portions are enough for (2) people to share one plate and reasonable. The menu boasts may choices and it will hard to narrow your choice down to one.
I cannot say enough about the décor, it stunning! The establishment is first class and you will not find anything like it within 30 miles.
Give it a try and you will be surprised and delighted, I know I was! We visit there regularly and will keep returning! [28 Dec 2006 17:02:36]

You won't be disappointed! OK, for all you people heading in from places on the bay, you won't be disappointed. I spent 2 years in San Diego, and had more than my share of fine dining down there.
That being said, the sushi here is excellent! There raw selection is pretty small, but that's what you get when there's a mountain pass in between you and the ocean. Tuna is actually the best I'd ever had, with huge slices on top of rice. It was really tender, almost like butter. Salmon was also excellent. They have raw beef there too, which was good, but I'm not a big fan of red meat in the first place so I couldn't say too much. The entrees are great, too.
In regards to my service rating: Their wok broke down, and they asked us about 45 minutes after our food was ordered if we wanted to wait for it to get fixed for our friend noodle dishes. We chose to wait (it was worth it!) and the taisho (head sushi chef) gave us about $25 in free sushi.
The ambiance was fantastic, really chill, great music, low lighting, could be very romantic, or just really chill depending on who you are with! Prices were fare, without a doubt. I didn't pay any more for the sushi than I would have in San Diego, but the entrees were a little expensive, although definitely in the "superior" category. [15 Mar 2007 22:14:33]

Great Food, Good Prices, Fine Staff Although Dragonfly caters to a younger more hip crowd later in the evenings, it's a fantastic spot for the whole family between 4-9 pm. The surroundings are beautiful and relaxing. There's a deck that overlooks the river. The food is delicious, the portions are generous and it's creatively presented. Kids will enjoy this place too. The manager runs a tight ship and the staff couldn't be friendlier. The best restaurant in Leavenworth! [29 May 2007 03:00:27]

Best food in Leavenworth Had an amazing time and great food! This will now be my first choice for a night out in Leavenworth (I go to Leavenworth a lot for climbing and hiking). The drinks are great and the Ahi superb! [12 Sep 2007 21:00:20]

Worst asian food I have ever had This is a great restaurant if you like hoisin on everything! I think there is a 55 gallon drum in the kitchen. I consider myself a connoisseur of Asian food. I've had and like Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Thai, Cambodian and Vietnamese food. The Dragonfly has definitely the worst Asian food I've had. The sushi was alright, but too much vinegar in the rice! The sushi rolls would be very good if the vinegar content is decreased and they left out the pickled veggies that are inside the rolls. Oh yeah, the raw Kobe beef is very good. [18 Jan 2008 22:35:56]

Finally someplace for foodies!! Having moved here from Spokane a few years back, we were so disappointed on the choices of authentic restaurants in this general area. We were overjoyed to find the Dragonfly!! Excellent food, atmosphere, and generally friendly staff! They still after time have glitches to work out with service, but living here, we have learned to slow down anyway! It is well worth the wait, and staff is always attentive. At first we stuck with what we knew, but vowed one day to try everything on the menu. There is not one thing we have not enjoyed. Highly recommended! In fact anytime family comes to visit, we always take them there! We visit @ least weekly if able and will continue to come back for more! [19 Mar 2008 09:30:46]
