what can you say? All smoking, all the time, a greasy spoon extraordinaire. Typical Americana fare, with the juke box in the bar warring against the juke in the main restaurant. Don't look for comfort when it comes to seating, the benches and chairs are probably the originals from 1890. Great coffee, good company, and an excellent place to waste a few hours. The Last Greasy Spoon When asked how long the restaurant has been open most people can only tell you "it has been open since the early sixties." It has been know to be open as early as the early fifties. This "hole in the wall" restaurant still serves real mashed potatoes & real french fries, made daily. The country gravy is the best around and, of course, made from scratch. You will not get any small servings here, even the kids menu is enough for most adults to fill up on. The wait staff & the cooks are one of a kind. Depending on what time of day, or what day you go to the restaurant, you could have the oldtimer cook that has been there as long as anyone knows & everyone calls him by his first name. Each cook has their own flair when preparing the menu items, but they all do a great job. The clients are your good old fashioned "regulars". Just walk into the place and you will see people move from booth to booth or bar stool to bar stool to chat with whom ever is around. You kids can feel at home also. No need to keep them in their seats as there are toys and a kids table to color or read. What better place to go to enjoy good company. Last but definitely not least the Sunday Night Jam Session. Generally blues but you also get country & whatever else the band can play. Come see for yourself. Good service, good food and good friends. Just like home. [01 Jul 2003 01:46:13]

I have very fond memories of the time I worked at the Pine Cone back in the mid 70's. Everyone was friendly and the atmosphere was down home. The food was very good and everyone seemed to know everyone else. Customers were the best! I have only good things to say about this place.
Are you listening, Arthur?

Pine Cone Cafe - Lynnwood, WA circa mid 70s Nice clean cafe with homestyle cooking. Daily lunch specials were available for variety. Many happy memories of my time as a waitress in this particular place.
