Should have gone out of business years ago I don't know what people see in this place. I will generally go to a restaurant at least twice, the second time if only to see if the first was a fluke. Well, it wasn't. The food was still overcooked to a deep brown, and tasted as though the oil in the deep fryer long overdue for changing. Unfortunately the only things on the menu that even sounded appetizing were deep fried, or more than I wanted to spend in this place.
These folks don't seem to know anything about seafood. Are they big in the midwest, or something? [12 Feb 2002 21:31:54]

My Favorite Restaurant Very comfortable restuarant. Too busy on weekends and a little expensive for dinner. I love to go there for lunch and my favorite is the Caesar salad with Lobster. Around $10 and all the cheese biscuits you want with it. Believe me, you'll leave full and happy if you love Caesar salad. [17 Feb 2004 16:11:12]

Bad to medicre food for a price that can get you better elsewhere It has always been a mystery to me why this chain is so popular. I hadn't eaten at a Red Lobster for many years, but from what I recalled it was hardly worth the effort or expense.
I recently received a gift card from a neighbor for helping them with some issues, so my wife and I decided to give it another shot. We decided to "push the envelope" and order their most expensive dishes to see if we had had a skewed perception for all of these years.
We discovered that we have been spot on... In fact it is WORSE than I recall.
My wife's steak (ordered medium) in her combination was so overcooked that she literally had trouble cutting it. The $28 "Ultimate Feast" (I added lobster mashed potatoes) that finally arrived (they had somehow screwed up the order) was a sad pile of grease and poor quality rubbery seafood (including the lobster tail).
Fortunately, the manager knocked off $20 from our tab, which was a nice gesture, but there's no way we're ever going back to that culinary hellhole again. For the amount of money that we would have paid (prior to the comp) we could have had a vastly better meal at a higher end restaurant without having to wait for 40 minutes to get seated.
If you're like us and are in a position to "give it another shot," save your time and money and go elsewhere. [20 Jan 2008 00:17:28]
