Trouble at Coco's I used to enjoy going there (about once or twice a month for the past 2 years) but recently things have been very awkward.
The Hostess is now a young lady called Lenel who after leaving us standing around waiting to be seated for 15 minutes (nobody was at the door) in an empty restaurant she abruptly told us that she needed to write down all the names first and made us sit down. There was only one other person behind us and I believe she was panicking out because she knew she had unnecessarily kept us waiting
The restaurant was completely empty so when it came time to seat us she was leading us to the back of the restaurant (when there were tons of seats else where). Not wanting to sit in the back of the restaurant we politely asked if we could sit in the front of the restaurant where she said, "No, I have this seat right here for you". It was an empty restaurant.
We didn't appreciate being spoken to this way so we started to leave but as we were leaving she called out, "I don't like being treated that way". I am not sure when we developed a relationship.
I calmly spoke to the Manager and she asked what she could do. I told her there wasn't much she could do since all we wanted was to have a quiet dinner and not deal with this. I thanked her for listening but as I was leaving the Hostess (Lenel) called out behind me sarcastically, "Have a Nice Day!!!” (That was not necessary).
I have never had complaints about the service or the food since I have been going there OR ANYWEHERE since we eat out a lot, but I had to write about this incident since it was humiliating.
We (or our friends) no longer wish to go to Coco’s on Lake because we do not wish to deal with that Hostess. [02 Oct 2006 15:02:50]
