Great Food, Good Price, HUGE quantities I have only have had the opportunity to have breakfast here and ordered the Ham and Eggs special, but witnessed other breakfasts which looked equally as good. The ham was a bone-in cooked perfectly that must have weighed a pound. I'm a big guy, but there was no way I could eat it all. Many locals eat here as it seemed everbody knew each other and the restaurant personnel. So I would recommend you fly in some Sunday morning and prepare for a longer than normal takeoff when you leave :) [29 Sep 2003 13:41:27]

Great Fish and Chips Excellent food (especially fish and chips) with convenient tie downs about 50' from your table. Spectacular view of the runway. Great service too. Highly recommend this restaurant! [03 Oct 2003 22:37:56]

Best Fried Halibut in Kitsap Old fashioned diner restaurant, complete with wait staff that has been there for years and years - they really hustle. Service is good, but it gets pretty busy on Sunday afternoons, so expect a long wait for your order to arrive. Most other days are not slow. The kids will be kept busy watching the light aircraft take-off and land from the adjacent runways of the Bremerton Airport and looking at the model planes suspended from the ceiling. On nice weekends, you can stop across the highway on your way out to watch the local skydivers. Their battered cod and halibut is the best anywhere and their homemade tartar sauce is perfectly balanced. You will enjoy the trip to the Airport Diner - but not as much as the kids will. Microsoft Flight Simulator The landing lesson on this Flight Sim says it has good fish and chips when you are landing. I went ahead and took their word for it one day. The game is right! [04 Nov 2005 13:45:25]

Come hungry! We stopped in for the first time today to give the place a try. We had heard and read here about the fish and chips so were intrigued.
We were not disappointed!
We started with a cup of the best clam chowder that we have ever had. Lots of perfectly sized chunks of potatoes, veggies and clams and not too thick. It actually came out hot which is something we usually don't find in most chowder places.
When the fish and chips came out, we were amazed at the portion size. My wife ordered the two piece and I the three. Large, battered pieces of fish were nestled on a huge bed of french fries. The fish was cooked to perfection and breaded in a thin golden brown batter that was seasoned nicely.
Their home made tartar sauce was excellent and added a great touch for dipping bits of the fish ... or even the fries!
The coleslaw was crisp, not too sweet and spiced just right.
We usually split a dessert but just couldn't without pulling a Monty Python "one more mint".
I can't wait until our next visit. But we will order properly next time. [10 Aug 2006 20:20:31]

Try the Sunday buffet The Airport Diner has always been one of our regulars since the last original Down East place closed. The fish and chips with the original Down East recipe is what the place is known for, but do ask about their soups. These should really be written on the reader board as you enter. There is usually clam chowder, among the best locally, but sometimes there is a really adventurous one worth trying.
The place is also neat for kids to watch general aircraft take off and land; sometimes there are parachute things going on (but NOT unfortunately a good place to change a diaper in the rest rooms.)
This comment is more about their Sunday buffet brunch which I only recently heard of; I don’t know when it started. I’m embarrassed to say that it was the prices that appealed to me ... $10.99 for grownups and $6.99 for kids and oldsters. When we were there, almost everybody belonged to the last category, including us. Drinks, of course, are extra.
Trying to recall what was offered, sorry if I left anything out: one hot pot of cereal, apparently oatmeal but not sampled; fresh fruits, cut fresh pineapple, several melons and grapes. For breads there were piles of bagels and various two-man sized fresh muffins. Scrambled eggs and omelets to order. I wish I had not asked for cheese in my omelet; too much, so I could not handle much after that. It looked like the eggs were commercial homogenized mixture, but I’m OK with that, and there were also Egg Beaters and home fries. Alas, no crepes.
Meats: bacon, lots of it, thick-sliced and crisp; sausage, I don’t know what kind, but large, not greasy, among the best I have ever had; sliced ham, good, lean and OK. Other things: cheese blinis/blintzes with various toppings, not sampled; biscuits and sausage gravy also not sampled. Desserts, sorry, but I could not even look at these after all the above. I think there were brownies, cakes and maybe pies. Apologies if I have missed anything important but I was so overstuffed after all that other stuff.
Sorry that I did not comment on the staff. They helped to make this a very pleasant experience. My only recommendation is that you should consider what these people have done and remember them before you leave. In all our visits, all of them have been helpful and considerate. [30 Oct 2006 22:27:26]

Best Fish and Chips in Washington I've been flying into PWT just for the fish and chips at this place for years, they are the best I've found in the state and better than anything we have in Seattle. Speaking only of the cod (since I've never had the halibut) the pieces are twice as big as usual, cut nice and thick. I'm guessing they must change their frying oil frequently and keep it really hot, because the fish is always just exactly perfectly cooked, moist flaky and not at all greasy. Their secret batter recipe is exactly what I crave. Even the cole slaw is perfect. I have raved about these fish and chips to everyone I know, but I think the crowds speak for themselves. I avoid going there on the weekend because it's just too busy, but it's a perfect weekday lunch for a very reasonable price. Not counting the avgas, of course. [06 Jul 2007 21:20:51]
