Good food, spotty service I've been to Mary Mac's probably 10 times or more. I think they have changed their name recently. They have a good menu with high-quality food, though the listings didn't change much over the years. The ambience is great, and the service is too--sometimes.
I have also had VERY bad service there. They seem to hire a very young wait-staff in the summer months. This is a great service to kids needing some extra money, but they should really manage them and train them better.
My wife and I also had a surly bartender experience just a few months ago--some guy with a bad ponytail. He is to be avoided. [27 Aug 2006 02:31:00]

Pepper Flake Express Went to dinner there a while ago - they made a big deal about, "... you should have made reservations!" The room was 3/4 empty. Nobody else showed up.
I pay about the same as they charge for a good Italian meal in downtown Seattle. However, in Seattle they don't festoon chicken with pepper flakes (like you'd put on a pizza) or have rubbery sauces.
It was just awful. I know it doesn't matter, but they ought to dump the cheap dishes and get some decent crockery.
I've been there at different times since Mary Mac's opened, it's just the downhill in fast forward there. Not worth the money. Avoid unless you have no tastebuds. [11 Jan 2007 10:54:48]
