Description
Claim Jumper serves food from all over the map, although it is predominantly American. Expect massive portions--most dishes are enough to feed several people. The restaurant is huge, but lines are still long most evenings. The atmosphere is generally that of an upscale family restaurant. Lunch and dinner served daily.

Huge quantities of food Claim Jumper's food isn't spectacular, although it is generally pretty good. The distinguishing feature is the massive portions. Nearly everyone walks out of the door with at least one take-home bag. The service is generally good.
One particular annoyance is the long lines for a table combined with the lack of phone-ahead reservations. Expect a long (1 hour+) wait on weekend evenings. [11 Feb 2000 19:52:28]

This Claim Jumper has the most wonderful food. It has a wonderful atmosphere and feels great to be there. The dining area is wonderfully decorated with Pioneer American artifacts. It is a higher-end casual restaurant. [05 Feb 2003 18:55:28]

No no no If something isn't very good, why would you want MORE of it?!?
Claim Jumper's selling point is big portions and it ends there. This is a definite miss due to the generally bad food, and cheesy dining experience. Don't bother. [17 Mar 2003 21:22:42]

Favorite Restaurant in California Claim Jumper is my favorite restaurant in California!! We discovered Claim Jumper's about 3 years ago and have been hooked ever since. We live more than 2 hours away from the closest Claim Jumpers, but take the time and effort to go there whenever the opportunity arises. We have NEVER been disappointed in the food, service or atmosphere. Everything is outstanding, and we always have enough left overs for at least 2 more meals. My only regret is that there isn't one closer to where we live. I recommend this to all of my friends and customers who have never eaten there. Keep up the fantastic work. [19 Mar 2003 18:21:28]

Hair in food. We always go to this restaurant to celebrate on many different occasion. We had to bring a lot of the food home so when we had gotten home there was a hair in my husband food. I did enjoy every thing except for my husband's salad & for my 6 layers cake (motherlode cake) The tiny white specks all in the cake was very unappetizing. The total cost was a little under $100.00 for the whole family. All of us are very big eaters. [11 May 2003 22:10:37]
Food: Service: Ambiance: Overall: Recommended Dishes: no hair in the food & make sure that the mother load does not have a lot of tiny white specks in the cake.

Not worth it... Great atmosphere. Huge portions. But food is not very good. I've been there twice. Last time the food was lukewarm and the turkey was dry. [23 May 2003 00:08:04]

Fabulous I've been to Claim Jumpers several times, it's one of our favorite restaurants. I've tried three different locations in California. All have wonderful, friendly, fast servers. I've tried everything from appetizers to dessert, and almost everything has been scrumptious. All of the desserts come directly from heaven and I strongly recommend you make a "special" trip and order "just" dessert. They are to die for! [17 Aug 2003 11:23:35]
